Fire supression mounting

Trunk mounting is good and practical. I've got one nozzle in the engine compartment and two in the cockpit. Both are pointing down towards the feet so you get initial blast on the firewall, up under dash and then the blowback on the rest of you.

My activation handle is on the dash and within reach when I'm strapped in. I also have a small halon bottle between the seats.

Nothing burns faster than a fiberglass car......

Any suggestions on a fire suppression system (make/model) if I wanted to cover engine compartment, driver and trunk?

I bought mine off Ebay from Race City. They have new and used parts from the NASCAR boys. Mine is made by Fire Bottle 5 lb with the DuPont equivilant of Halon. Paid $236 with shipping vs $399.00. You may want to consider a 10lb unit to cover all three areas. Mine is set up for the engine and driver / passanger compartment.

I mounted mine under the dash. Pull handle is on dash.

I have been told my both the fire extinguisher company from whom I purchased my Halon hand-held unit and knowledgeable friends that extinguishers containing Halon should be stored upright. Otherwise, the Halon corrodes the seal at the top of extinguisher, and the charge is lost. Just FYI!
