The Terry Body Springs hold the Turkey Pan down to the base. You could probably run without them, but the pan might then rattle on top of the base. The TB springs eliminate that possibility. Here's a better shot of them, you can see that I have them safety wired together just in case one of them vibrates loose, which has yet to happen.
