If I were Shelby I would be more concerned with becoming a larger than life automotive legend for years to come versus cornering the market for $. My opinion is "you can't take it with you" so focus on all the positive and let the legal whores chase accidents instead of replica manufacturers and T-Shirt/hat salesman.
Think about it, without the replica market being this size (large) these cars would be a historical legend and not noticed as they are today. They would only be seen at large venue shows and the populous would not know what they represent or even what they are. I would also suspect they would be priced similar to other Shelby automobiles without replica support.
SAAC would be a small group and probably extinct by now. Life is too short and one must enjoy what we have.
Good thing Ford has some of the rights to names and copyrights referencing these fine cars otherwise this site would be simply Club Cool Cars and stuff.
