A Possible Work Around Picture Storage
For those of you who have tons of pictures to post, you could do what I tried over in the "Test Section." Those pictures are mostly just junk that I put there to put in posts to show people things, but you could have a build thread or whatever and use many of the photo storage places. I use Photo Shop but others are just as good or better. I just put the link in my signature line and it will be on every post. That way if I post pictures I can state in a post which they are in, the CC Gallery or the link in the signature line. Thanks to Ron(CW) for giving me this idea.
EDIT: The only drawback and that doen't bother me is that on Photo bucket there is no place for comments or ratings. Some of the other sites may have this as I haven't looked at but a very few of them.
Edit: You could specify where I have Miscellaneous Pictures if it is a build thread or just what.
Ron

Thanks for picking up on this from our discussion.
Here is a clean way to put that link in your signature.
Edit your sig file and put the following string into it.
(using Ron61's link as an example)
The first part of the string is the link; the second part is what you want the link to read as in the sig.
PHP Code:
[url="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v643/Ron61/"]View my Miscellaneous Gallery[/url]
It would display like this:
View my Miscellaneous Gallery
...opening up the external Gallery in a new Window.
Don't forget the quotes around the URL in the string.

Thanks ron,
I will get right on it. I have been over in the test section trying different things to make it look better.

Heck, I'd be happy if I could just look at my pics.

Brent, Ron, Jamo......
No intent on hijacking this thread, but here's a thought w/ regards to freeing up space on the server (if that is the issue).
As time goes by, people lose interest in the site for a number of reasons. Why not go into the galleries of Members/Users that have not posted in let's just say 1 year, and empty the gallery? Would that free up any appreciable space on the server? Maybe you could start a thread letting people know ahead of time that if they have not posted in 365 days, they risk their gallery being emptied.
Just a thought.

That's a good thought, Chris...actually the problem is not space on the server now...just what the impact would be down the road if it grew unlimited..
...and some users may "lurk" for more than a year without posting....we see that all the time.
Nevertheless...thanks for the suggestion.
