Do not recall the specific source, but mentioned in an article was that insurance companies were using credit reports and background checks with the initial application and renewals in determining the risk of providing insurance .

Yep,most all insurance companies do,Whether they admit it or not. Home Ins. too.

Good credit does pay.

Just remember guys, CHEAPER isn't always BETTER.

Before you put your hard earned money down for insurance. Check out the complaint history (online with your local insurance commisioner) and see how the company you are considering fares.

Also ask them if your car is totaled, how do they arrive at its payoff value. Do they use low blue book or current retail value in your area. This could mean the difference of thousands of dollars to you.

You Don't want to skimp here.
