My Ford dealer here in Ct. is sitting on 3 GT500's. He is asking 3000-4000 over MSRP but I noticed the first one he received has been sitting for 3 months. He just got a convertible in last week and is looking for $4000 over MSRP. He has had a few nibbles on the convertible. One car is red with white stripes the other two including the convertible are blue with white. Interesting note: One of the coupes came from factory with dent in right rear fender. No paint missing or any evidence of damage after paint. Can't believe factory sent it out that way but Ford needs the money!

My understanding is that Ford sends the Mustangs to Shelby in Vegas where they are retrofitted to GT 500 specs . then they get reshipped from there .
Ford does NOT ship cars with dented fenders . Dents usually occur due to transit damage on carriers or being moved around at some rail yard or haul-a-way lot . In the case of the GT 500s they get handled and re-handled several times due to the retro fitting before the final delivery to the dealership, thus increasing the risk of transit damage. Bill |
actually, the 500's don't go to Vegas. The GT's do, however. :)
The 500's have all mods done in MI. The Shelby GT's go to Vegas; much like the earlier system in the 60's. :) k |
Correct. Now Bill you may be thinking of the KR's. Those are 500's that are shipped to Shelby to be converted into KR's then out to dealers.
