Whats going on with Shelby stock??? It has been going up slowly for 2-3 weeks or so. Today it is at $ .50 where it hasn't been for a long time and somebody bought $ 64,000 worth today.

Yep, Kopec and Eber are buying Shelby out and then firing him.

Maybe it's a pump and jump....somebody check the fax! A more likely explanationis that CS is buying up as much as he can as insurance against unwanted adversaries in the boardroom. Last I checked he owned less than 60%. A 40% co-owner(s) can make life uncomfortable. Price goes up as more and more buy orders are received.
That would be funny if Ken Eber was the buyer and showed up at board meetings though!

Default Expectation

I am glad to see a thread on Shelby Stock.
I did not make the meeting in December. Was there good news for a strong stock value in the future? I have been impressed w/ Amy B. and the POTENTIAL for the stock to be a good/great investment. Anyone have input on POTENTIAL??

Maybe they discovered an oil field down at Shelby headquarters?

Isn't it a scam when owners buy their own stock to up it's price, and then dump it? I am not saying that is what's going on but....................

At some magical percentage, I forget if it's 5% or 10% of the outstanding stock, but at some point whoever is buying will have to disclose it to the SEC. Unless, it's part of a stock repurchase program already authorized by the Board of Directors.

Personally, I hope it's SAAC.

I am not buying stock in CSBI, Carroll Shelby International. The company has a long history of uneven performance, including a period in the early 2000's when there was evidence of management attempting to solve cash flow problems by directing purchaser deposits to the cost of completing cars already ordered. The company's public value is less than the minimum required by the SEC to compel public disclosure so an investor has no way to determine the debt to earnings ratio, dividend history, price to earnings ratio and other metrics used to evaluate the potential for future performance. Also, much of the company's allure is tied to the name 'Shelby.' After his passing the connections with Ford that are responsible for most of the cash flows reflected in the stocks recent improvement may not be renewed. I am not optimistic regarding the status of cars manufactured or modified in a 'post-Shelby' era.

The folks actually involved in day to day mangement of Carroll Shelby International are more skilled than those who tried to work through the problems confronting the company when the Series 1 was the heavily marketed product and manufacturing replica Cobras was thought to have a limited potential for growth. Still, Carroll Shelby International is more of a novelty, better suited for investing as a way to bring excitement to talk at a cocktail party than a serious opportunity to gain favorable returns in a competitive market.

I bought a few shares a couple of years ago just to get a certificate... suitable for framing.

When it hits a $1.00, I am going to cash out and buy a transmission...

At the rate things are going I will have nice wall art for a while...

Just as FYI,

Carroll is not buying the current stock and he owns well over 60% of the company already.

A few years ago at one of my bi-yearly meetings with my stock broker/investor, I mentioned I wanted to buy some stock in the company........this guy was not a car guy and had never heard of CS nor any of his cars, so he had no opinion on the matter.....he did a quick five minute research into the company and told me in no uncertain terms he COULD NOT and WOULD NOT advise me to invest not even $1.00 in the company....
He said I'd have a better return on my money by going to a casino and playing Blackjack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I'm not much of a gambler, especially at Blackjack...........

He was telling me the results of his quicky research, using a lot of mumbo jumbo stock market terms I did not understand, but his bottom line was he was surprised the company was still in existance and some things he uncovered were borderline criminal......

The reason for the stock purchase was to mess with a close friend and long time Shelby owner...........I bought some stock anyway, mainly for the certificate and to show up my ole buddy.........

As of the close today, I am a whopping $32.00 ahead on my investment...........maybe tomorrow I'll sell out and take the wifey to a cheap buffet for supper!!!!!!!!!!!!

David

I don't know who the exact person would be for this, but if you email me your name and email or phone number , I will forward it to the group that handles the stock.

Geeez, How could a person have so much going for him, and continually screw it up with greed. He acts like a trailer park cracker!
