Thanks Chriss. Did those pipes make the noise that I think was being referring to?

Would it do the same thing if you really worked the connection hard to get a super tight fit? Maybe wrapped the pipe with something so it would hit the sides? Wouldn't a loose, sloppy fit rattle and flutter?

I have the slip fit type at the collector. They work great at the track, just slip the sidepipe off and you've got an open header/collector,,and it sounds awesome!!

I have a set of stainless side pipes from www.buckshotracefab.com , 4,000 dollars , for my Superformance. They're ok, louder, more power. It took three jet sizes up to match the air fuel ratio of the Superformance side pipes.

Here's a large res. image.

Ronnie,

What noise are you referring too?

The new mufflers are pretty wicked sounding. We'll see how much I have to rejet very soon.

Chris,
You know...a fluttering noise...kinda like taking a blade of grass and blowing to make a noise....remember when you were a boy?

Randall,
Lighten up a bit, I am merely trying to help a less experienced cobra owner to more fully enjoy the cobra experience. You have gone overboard and since we are close personal friends....please take your meds, you know what happens if you don't.....hoosegow???? Is that your special place? Now please lets keep this thread on topic.
Your buddy,
Ronni

Sorry Ronni,

I literally am on meds right now. I had outpatient surgery today that didn't go to well, hence my absence from posting between 10-4. Its just frustrating to have posts go awry on other forums as well. Its been one of those cumulative days. At least my only shotgun is a youth version so my toe doesn't fit well in the trigger guard.

Ooops,
R

Check out www.performancekote.com they did my headers J-pipes and Side Pipes were cheaper, have a 3 year warranty, and I had my stuff back in less than a week . I also met the owner and he is building a sweet factory five and has coated absolutely everything . Even parts like his roll bar , coil over springs , and alternator .

hi,

Another approach to having high preformance (foot down) and quiet (foot off, coasting pass local constabulary) is to have vacuum operated valve in the exhaust -check these links out http://autospeed.com/A_0883/cms/article.html and http://autospeed.com/cms/A_1744/arti...popularArticle

Maurice, the concept you mentioned is factory installed on the Corvette 2008/9 Z06 and the 2009 ZR1
