Like the article said, it's not as if you couldn't see this coming.

Mark IV 03-19-2008 09:20 AM

But hey, don't search MY posts over the years predicting this!

However, A.L. STILL owns the brand and the IP and he will find another sucker to put money up and run his latest "AC shell game"

Pity that a brand as old and storied as AC ends up being a bad joke.............:(

He's lied and schemed too many people for too long, don't be surprised if you see this rat's name show up in an obituary listing.

Anyone want to lift up a few rocks.....? How to trash the history of a once decent company.

1ntCobra 03-19-2008 10:52 AM

Well if the Mk V is out of production, perhaps number 3 will become a valuable collector's item...

It might be interesting to know just how many cars Alan has managed to build since Brian was forced out as the owner of AC.

I assume Ned knows the answer to how many CSX1000s were built before that situation failed. I guess there were at least 2.

They certainly looked like nice cars (as opposed to the Mk V). I wonder what Alan did to mess up that situation.

Excaliber 03-19-2008 11:12 AM

Lubinski has got to be one of the great all time con men, it's amazing how he builds 'hope' so much better than he builds cars.

EVERY THING!!! He was (is) NOT a car guy, he is a stock manipulator, not a manufacturer.

Rick

Flyin_Freddie 03-19-2008 12:16 PM

I diasgree...he's neither a stock manipulator, nor a manufacturer, nor a car guy, either....

He's a sleazeball... ...and I'm of the opinion the authorities will simply find a body some day...without ever knowing who it may have been...but, coincidentally, Alan Lubinski will never be seen nor head from again.

But...Hey...! That's just me...

1ntCobra 03-19-2008 12:30 PM

Maybe I should rephrase my question then.

How did Alan manage to make any CSX1000s?

powerslide 03-19-2008 12:59 PM

Looking at the Mk V the tailight arrangement just doesn't look right. Very unCobralike. Were they trying to comply with a current EEC reg?
Is that the gas filler cap, flush mounted between the two rollbars, in front of the trunk bulkhead?
One of the qualities of Tojiero's timeless design is its purity, this current iteration appears problematic!

Excaliber 03-19-2008 01:05 PM

Problematic? You being very kind, the rear end tail light thing is a disaster. :D

mr bruce 03-19-2008 01:28 PM

Truely amaizing. Finding people to invest millions for a car that you can buy a mold for a body for $5 grand, and a frame jig for $2 or 3k more.

Wayne Maybury 03-19-2008 02:22 PM

Didn't someone always chime in and say that everyone had the story all wrong, Lubinsky was actually a fine upstanding person, bla, bla, bla.

Only one thing surprises me. How is he able to still find new investors?

What a sleeze bag!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, this is only my opinion.:rolleyes::o:eek:

He built a few before he was run of of the UK. Malta never built alloy cars, he arranged to have Brooklands Motor build any further alloy cars, had any been sold.

Nedsel 03-19-2008 02:43 PM

Uh-uh. Ned doesn't know anything about these cars. One might say he figured there was no sense getting the registry engines revved up in the absence of any fuel.

Actually he is, he got away with a scam on his "Pride Automotive Group" that took down a couple of his partners (Ex- NYS Gov. Eliot Spitzer prosecuted two of Alan's partners for stock fraud)

He is a first class weasel. He has the AC name and IP held in a family trust in Delaware, USA and he only "licenses" the trademarks to his various versions of "AC" to protect them. They can't be taken or siezed until he really get caught.

Professor Muck and i will be accepting apologies for attacks on our negativism regarding Mr. Lubinsky and/or anything he touches.
