Re doing powder coating on frame..

Is it feasable or even possible to do spot touch up powder coating on a frame ?? without major surgery taking everything apart. I have a friend with some problems that he would like to take care of.. car is fairly new and some rust is starting to show ruining the look of his fully polished engine

Use POR 15 over the rust (POR stands for paint over rust) and it should match up almost perfectly to the powder coat and encapsulate the rust. As long as the powder coat is black, that is.

POR is the best way to hid bad places on a power coated frame.

I can attest to the black POR-15. My chassis is powder coated with black gloss. After I got the frame back and started putting everything back on, I decided to switch out my brakes for Wilwoods. Unfortunately, the back brakes would not just bolt on and I had to cut of one of the existing brake mount points to make room for the Wilwood e-brake. I touched up where I had to cut off the mount point with POR-15 and, unless you look real close, you can't tell the difference.

There is a picture in my gallery although it is hard to tell from that angle what the POR-15 looks like vs the powder coating but it will at least give you some idea.
