Perry,

I have made so many phone calls and sent so many e-mails just asking for information on why gas is the way it is that they don't even send the computer generated replies any more. Calling you are only allowed to speak to an aide as the Senator, or whatever is out on a fact finding trip about what to do to help the,;;( insert your own thoughts here as there is no end of them ) If they told me I had all of the power in the world to straighten out this mess, I would not even know where to start. Most likely by getting rid of all politicians in Washington and working down, but that is just speculation as I have no idea of what is really true and what isn't. Just for fun, no argument, where would you start if you had this choice?

Ron

Ron, when our lawmakers tried to introduce that 'immigration legislation' a while back, millions of Americans were quick to respond with a big 'no'. It just goes to show what can happen when enough folks, have had enough!. I believe when election time rolls around, any candidate vowing to introduce bills to open drilling and building new refineries, will have a very good chance of being elected. I truly believe with today's technology, mishaps will be limited. We have plenty here and it needs to be tapped.

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your generous contribution to keep our "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition drive alive. I wanted to give you a quick update on the campaign and the overwhelming response we've received.

Already, more than 140,000 people have signed the petition urging Congress to start drilling for oil domestically. Next week, it's our goal to deliver more than 250,000 signatures to the United States Senate as a first step toward stopping the destructive Warner-Lieberman bill which would raise the cost of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, natural gas and coal.

Americans truly have a choice - a choice between paying more and sending more money to foreign dictators, or producing more oil domestically and paying less. I hope you'll forward this email update to your friends and family and ask them their choice, and encourage them to sign the petition and join this movement.

Again, thanks for your support and for standing with me for real change.

Your friend,

Newt Gingrich
General Chairman
American Solutions

P.S. This petition drive has been successful because engaged citizens like you have helped spread the word. Please visit our Web site to forward this email to 10 of your friends or family members and encourage them to sign the petition to help us reach our goal of 250,000 signatures.

While you guys take the time to post gas prices in your area, how about sending a harsh note to your favorite senator and rep. What...3-6 minutes?.

Just made the drive from CA to MD in the past 64 hours. Gas was cheapest in AR, OK, parts of TX(), KY, NM, and TN (in relative order from cheapest to highest). Highest in CA, MD, WV,AZ, and TX (it varied there by as much as 0.30/gal)(high to low).

This morning @ Valero, for 87, $4.219/gal. CT continues to have the distinction of the highest state tax in the US @ $.51/gal. A guess would be Costco is probably $.05/gal + less expensive.

The CT General Assembly is considering keeping the oil products wholesale tax percent at 7.0 %, scheduled to go to 7.5 % on July 1

Latest controversy , State Troopers are now allowed only one tank full of gas when off duty, each Trooper brings their patrol car home. The one tank full is purchased at the state facility/barracks. They were previously allowed to purchase additional gas and submit an expense report. The Trooper's Union has requested a meeting on the policy change

ON the Early Morning Show, there were two guy's that did a video cartoon on how gas is charged up to it's current costs. The part that got me was what it costs per gallon starting with just plain crude oil from the ground: $0.05.

It just get's barreled up and sent overseas. Somewhere bewteen the Middle East and our refineries, it goes up $3.30. Then all these costs go in to produce the $4/gallon we're seeing today.

What the $3.30 is , are speculators on what the cost "should" be based on several factors, such as geo-political issues, the weakening U.S. dollar, and of course, supply and demand.

I think the recession has already started but the reality will hit home on Independence Day when $5/gallon is predicted to hit...ironic timing, considering we "depend" so much on a country so far away... I'm with the guy in VA, let's start charging those we are protecting. (However, that could backfire and suddenly, we're replaced by the Chinese military!!!!)
