Knocking on wood now. If this is it, either isapirewrite or memcache has been dorking us...or the combination of the two. We'll see.

No problems with the site today regarding 404 errors or very slow response.
But I am now getting an e-mail for every reply to a thread. Before, I would get ONE e-mail for the first unread reply to a thread, and would not get another until I visited the site. This was GREAT, because it did not fill up my inbox.
Starting today, I am now getting an e-mail for EVERY single reply to any thread. For example, I have six e-mails today just for the New, New Chat Thread.
I liked the old method a lot better.

Are you sure you didn't get a one time spam? I had the service turned off accidently for a couple days and then turned it back on.

The multiple e-mails this morning has been corrected. I only got one e-mail per thread this afternoon.
Excellent!

Guess I posted too fast.
There were no multiple e-mails from noon to about 5:30 PM. I just closed out my CC visit and went to look at my e-mails. From 5:30 to 6:30 (while I was on CC), I got 3 e-mails from one thread (5:38, 5:44 and 6:16 PM).

Brent,
The site worked well for me all day yesterday for the first time in a long time. A couple of posts went in slow, but not then 40/55 seconds like they used to take. That used to happen on the old server and I just figured I probably submitted one at the same time another person on the thread did. My E-Mails are working fine, both from here and CHR. If this keeps on all day today, it would seem that you are narrowing down the major problems.
Thanks for the hard work.

Try loading the pics to PhotoBucket (accounts are free) and then using a link to them there to post them on the ClubCobra gallery. That will allow you to have a large pic dimensionally (you can vary the size of the pics on PhotoBucket) while greatly reducing the amout of space used on Club Cobra's gallery. Also use the jpeg format rather than BMP.

This may sound stupid but how to you shrink them to fit? I downloaded them from my digital camera to a folder on my desktop. Normally with an emial I just click on the attachment then double click on the picture but I have never had to shrink to fit.

Ron,
This one is just 81.3 kb and some think it is still too big.

1. Google Adobe Photoshop.
2. Download the free Photoshop Elements.
3. Make a "duplicate" of your picture, and then "resize" it. 640X480 of about 100-150kb is a good size for posting here. You can use larger sizes and higher resolutions for your gallery, but use the smaller size for use in posts.
Folks will tell you to use some online service to either park your pic or to resize them yourself. Seems to me that anyone serious enough to get a CSX ought to learn how to do it for themselves. Elements will serve 90% of your needs for fixing your pics for home use as well...red eye, resizing for e-mails or printing, etc. BTW, I always lighten my pics a little for the internet, which tends to darken them.
You are most welcome.

Or you could read the stickies at the top of this forum which explains and shows the size and space you have for pictures in the gallery.
Edit: This was not meant to be sarcastic as I thought that if you looked at the posts on the gallery you may be able to see the limits and how to post and understand it easier.

They are now posted in the gallery under csx 4910. The powertoy download for windows xp was a lot easier than photoshop. I just forgot to rename them before attaching but they are there.
Thanks
Ron

Ron...glad you figured out how to do it for yourself, regardless of what tool you used. Any further issues, PM me.
Ron61...I just don't know what we'd do without you.

Ron...took a look at your pics. Again, use whatever tool you want, but Photoshop Elements (used by a few billion first, second and third worlders) would allow you to downsize while keeping good quality. I note that your last posted pic is only about 50kb, probably because the XP tool didn't give you the choice on resolution. When you downsize and then save the copy on elements, you can adjust the resolution independently...again, 100-150kb is pretty good for a 640X480 size. Also, a little lightening can help when posting on the internet or e-mailing pics.
Here's your pic at 50kb...
Here's your pic after I lightened and sharpened it up a bit and saved it at 150kb. Now, that's working from the small/low res pic you uploaded. The results are even more pronounced if doing the same types of things from the original high res. Just trying to help...ignore it if you don't have any further interest.
