Talking July 4th parade in San Diego

Its that time again! I am looking for Cobras to participate in the 38th annual 4th of July parade in Scripps Ranch (San Diego) California. We have openings for up to 20 cars this year. This is a morning parade that starts at 10AM and should end before noon. Plenty of time to show off your patriotically decorated car to several thousand spectators and still have time to enjoy the rest of the day. If you are interested and would like details, please PM me or send an e-mail to: jbrindl1@san.rr.com.

Thanks,

SkipB

Ps. Edley, this means you!

Edley,

For you, anything you want! But, I always thought you were driving backwards! Don't forget to bring your big flag!

Parade reminder,

Please read the start of this thread.

I still need some cars (about 4-5 more) for the parade in San Diego. We are also open to any Shelby models past or present. Well, maybe not the little Dodge Omni that once had Shelby badges!

We already have one Ford GT and a Daytona Coupe. Come and join us for the fun.

What kinds of decorations are required? We live in San Clemente and may be able to make it down there.

rokndad,

I hope you can join us!

Decorations are optional, but most cars either have small American flags (I hope to have a bunch of small ones to hand out) or some red, white and blue ribbons, yarn, crepe paper, etc. I should have some tape to hold it on to the car. Some people don't want anything to mess up the paint job. No problem, everyone is welcome.

Directions:

I15 south to Miramar/Pomerado Road exit.
Go east toward Poway on Pomerado Road.
Turn left onto Avenida Magnifica (about 2 1/2 miles east of I15) stoplight here.
Immediately turn left onto Mesa Madera.
Take Mesa Madera up the hill to the first stop sign.
Turn left at the stop sign onto Red Cedar Drive and start looking for Cobras and other Shelby type cars on your left in one of two streets (We stage one on street or the other depending on our parade position. Usually we are the 35th group or later)

Be there around 9:30 AM for car talk. The parade starts at 10AM, but we won't start moving until 10:15-10:30. Bring water and sunscreen!

Any questions, contact me here.

Skip I may be able to that again. I'll confirm as it gets closer and see if I can't drag another along with me.

xlr8or,

Great! I certainly hope you can make it! What if I promised you a buyer for your car? Just kidding, but who knows. The more people that see you amazing car, the better your chances of selling it! I wish I had the money, it would be gone in a minute!

Sure, bring someone else with you. The more the merrier!
