Angry Hand brake cable nightmare

I have Lokar hand brake cables and Cobra calipers and i'm puzzled about how that system will work. The end of the cable slides in a fixed crack in the caliper and the casing of the cable is secured with a nut to the spring mechanism of the caliper which moves the piston inside. What I don't get is that it's not the cable that seems to directly activates the system but the casing. Can somebody explain to me or have a picture of the same set-up,i'm kind of clueless right now. It's killing me right now,i'm so frustrated with this thing, thanks guys.

I had the same set-up. Which cables are you using? They told me to use the ones from a 87 Thunderbird, but the ends weren't even close to the original version. I got them to work though.

I'll probably need a pic to see what you are doing.
