Default eBay Always Good for a Laugh

I've seen this one before. Superformance with a starting bid of $80K and a "buy it now" price of $105K. Signed on the fender by Jack Roush...yes signed right on the paint!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Repli...spagenameZWDVW

Those guys are on crack.

Well I wouldn't hold either of those signatures against the car, after all, you can easily order a new glove box door and that fender signature should 'buff right out'.

No mention of titling except "clear". A dealer selling it as "used" with a whopping 225 miles? I'd love to hear Morganster's take on this one!

That same car was listed on eBay last month for $125,000.

I contacted him and asked why it was worth almost twice the price of a new one.

He had no answer. Obviously trying to find that one sucker that doesn't read the fine print about it being a recreation of the original.

I told him that when he is ready to get more reasonable in the price, I might be interested.

I think he thinks the sigs make it worth the extra $50k. Jack will sign for free, and CS will sign your butt for $250.

Naked eye and Jamo in the same post? Is that allowed, sounds horribly X rated to me.

Oh that front end aint so bad, just the typical dual fans and oil cooler. The PICTURE isn't very well done, it do make it look kinda 'busy' in there.

Sorry I have to disagree,
when you look at the side view of the nose, the fan motors are practically protruding out of the grill opening.
The fans are mounted far to forward to be aesthetically pleasing.

Related to unusual Cobra pricing....did any of you follow the bidding on the NAF 289 FIA located in NW Washington state? All week long the price was stalled at $15,100 and 16 bids. Then with just a few hours to go the price shot up to $33,450, 25 bids, and the reserve appeared to drop off.(I thought it was the typical last minute feeding frenzy). Then with an hour and a half to go the amount of $15,100 reappeared with 16 bids! What the.....? The reserve was back on. The auction closed at $15,525, 17 bids, and the reserve not met. What am I missing here?

Not to give them more ammunition - but I'm pretty sure that's a Special Edition Roush - SPF. Could be wrong though.

That usually happens when there's a bid retraction for some reason. Either the bidder made a "mistake" and asks to be released from his bid, or the seller decides not to accept the bid for some reason (low bidder feedback score, bidder outside the country, etc).

A really good auctioneer can get you to bid aganist yourself he will work the floor as if you have a bidder going up aganist you but in fact you are the high bid and dont have to do anything.

SPF fans are normally on the engine compartment side. That car looks like someone went crazy with an "erector set."

Good point of the fan placement, I believe the originals used a SINGLE rod to mount the fan's on? Can we get a pic of that? This one does an 'erector set' look to it with the two supporting rods and holes drilled in them. I guess it's not just a 'bad picture' on second look.

We stopped by frontier ford in santa clara today, and Jack was there and yes, Jack will sign anything, think of him as Carrol 2.0

There were tons of roush-nishi's there with the late models.

Even if it is a Spec Ed, this is Stratospheric pricing. Funny part in the ebay link they dont match the mileage, upper ad says 175, lower in the ad states 225.

Even so, 250 miles , the ideal operational settings and adjustments are not even shaken out of a fresh build at 250. take about 700-900 miles to get a chassis to settle after a build.

I think the front fans look botched.

Lest we forget, Sharpie has contributed tens of millions to Roush Racing in sponsorship in their NASCAR program, which is probably a good reason to carry a few Sharpies in your pocket.

Maybe one of the reasons it's so high is the fact that it has a luxury item listed on the spec sheet. Maybe he dinged luxury tax for that .....
