And that crap goes on up here in I-5 all the time. We have 3 lanes and they will all be backed up by some IDIOTS in the two outer lanes driving along passing no one and mostly well under the speed limit but making sure they are right next to each other and an 18 wheeler so no one can pass them. Then if they mess up and there is an opening as soon as a vehicle starts to pass they will speed up. California without doubt has the supedist and rudest drivers in the country.

You couldn't be more right. I think it has to do with population density. The more rats in the box, the more aggressive they become.

I drove through Utah from Ca. last winter and on that two lane Hiway 15 from Nevada through Utah, everyone drove in the right lane until they came upon a slower vehicle. Then they would get in the left lane and pass. Returning to the right lane as soon as it was safe.

Soon as I crossed the border into Ca. coming home, that went all to hell. Everyone wanted to be in the left lane. Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming and Iowa were very courteous.

Ca. drivers think it is macho to be in the left lane.
