Aluminum dash finish options...
Okay, I've figured out the the of finish I want for my dash, I just don't know what it's called. Fish scale or something like that? You see it on vintage Bugatti's, and it, well, looks like fish scales spun into the aluminum.
You know what I'm talking about. What's it called? How do I get this done? Does it matter if the dash has a curve to it? Anyone in the SF Bay Area know where I can get this done?

That was easy.
Now, is this typical machine shop stuff, or more of a specialist?

Doug, I've had an engine turned dash in my NAF for almost 10 years. At the time, I couldn't find a machine shop to do the job, in anything less than a couple months. I went to a sign business and they ordered an adhesive backed aluminum veneer that looks great. The down side is that it is very soft and can be scratched with a swinging ignition key ring. This might work as an option for you.
