I just rejoined a couple of months ago, and it took about 5 weeks to get my password. But hang on ... the membership is free and there is a ton of good stuff inside the web site.
But set up a filter in your e-mail account. I made a directory called SCOF and set up the filter to direct any e-mail with "SCOF" in the subject line to the SCOF directory. Therefore all of the e-mails go to that sub-directory. Then you can sort the bunch of e-mails by "subject" title and easily delete any group of e-mails very quickly by the subject info.
You will get anywhere from 30 to 60 e-mails a day in that folder. Sounds like a lot, but you can quickly delete 90% of the ones that are just general conversation between members (Like CC's "New, new chat thread" and/or any thread in the Lounge).
Or you can select "No e-mails" when you sign up. Then you just visit when you are looking for info.

Years ago my friend complained about the many emails, and was kicked off the site.

That's precisely why Warren posted the helpful hint. About every couple years someone will sign-up and then ***** about the volume of e-mails they get. Then when the other SCOFers try to assist to help them, they ***** some more. Follow the protocols and it's easy stuff.
SCOF is THE site for SPF owners.

SCOF is very much worth it, and very easy to manage with mail subfolders to direct intake away from your primary email. Not only will SCOF itself provide you instant access to a huge resource for anything and everything Superformance, the SCOF membership also gets you access to the Tech Library. There are tips and how-to-do-it articles there that are a goldmine of data. My application I recall took about 2 months to go through, it all depends on the volume and timing.
