Sandy,

Welcome to SCOF. You will love it IF you; 1) take the time to get to know the players and protocols and that means participating....just jump in and don't worry about things....you will get the protocols with experience....if you bend a couple of minor rules early on you will get a pleasant reminder and maybe some ribbing… but no worries. 2) wear your thick skin when entering the cyberdoors....it is helpful for those "gentle" reminders you will get. and 3) learn to manage your mail.

Yeah, some people do not like the volume of emails but there are two built in options to address that. One is to have the Yahoo Groups lump the emails together in bundles of 25 each and then just scroll through a couple a day (not my personal favorite because they just come through in the order Yahoo gets them and it is sometimes tough to piece the various conversations together). Another is to skip the email option altogether and just go to the site and read what you want. But I would HIGHLY urge you to stick with the emails for a while. You will learn to manage them and miss them on slow days when the traffic is low.

SCOF is THE place to be if you own a SPF. There is nowhere, not even from the factory, that you can get as complete and timely information on the Superformance experience. There is probably not a question that could be asked that someone has not already dealt with on some level. If there is a fix for something, you will find it on SCOF. Most of the issues (which have been very rare) were discovered and ultimately fixed by owners before the factory even knew they existed. It is also a great place for advice regarding anything that is drive train related (not SPF issues but things we all have to deal with). The professional engineers, mechanics and designers on SCOF are as good as anyone in the business and it is all free. But all that said, it will NOT be the technical information that keeps people around. Its the lifelong friendships created from participating in the forum and the numerous SCOF events scattered across the country all year long. For many, SCOF membership becomes a far more valued asset than the car itself. I wonder how many people keep their SPF for no other reason than to stay involved with SCOF. I bet a few.
