Drive as many as you can...each "brand" is slightly different in their own ways. Given your budget you can certainly buy a nice Superformance or Backdraft without any problems. Also a used ERA would be a good choice. Doubt you'll get a Kirkham in that range, but occasionally a screaming deal can be found (especially during these rough times).
Good luck,
-Dean

Dean,
Third one down on the Cobracountry site, Loanstar LS427, in Utah looks like the ticket.
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
george

George, I know little about the Loanstar product because it wasn't on my radar when I was shopping some 5+ years ago for my SPF.
The BIGGEST mistake many make when buying a Cobra is that they have the money ready to deploy and the deals are looking really good, and then they buy something that (a) either doesn't fit their frame well or (b) it wasn't what they thought it would be. Owning a Cobra is a relationship...it's simply a very raw ride (think Harley-Davidson with four tires) and a very visceral experience. If you don't care about noise, cold wind in your hair, getting caught in the rain, gas fumes, scaring the bajeebies out of small children, setting off car alarms, pissing off your neighbors every now and then, then this car is for you.
You're going to spend a boat load of money...might as well invest some time in actually seeing as many cars as you can. Trust me, with this economy and where we are headed, there are certainly going to be more deals to be had in the coming months. Time is on your side.
