I've got an American Automotive Equipment lift that works just fine...now. I did have one of the cables blow when I had my half ton GMC about 6" off the floor. The company replaced the cable and I installed it in about 30 minutes. No problems since and the lock system does seem to be very substantial. Couldn't beat the price and for my needs, is just fine. I asked about where the lift was manufactured and was told "off shore" which I took to mean China. Getting hard to find much of anything not made there.
