Then again, newbies should respect the fact that established folks have gone through these discussions more than a few thousand times over the past several years on many different levels and nothing really new has been offered in this thread...so it might be a bit presumptuous of newbies to instruct others how to make their point so long as it stays within bounds.

I think the response was within bounds.

That being said, everyone stay within the bounds. We'll let you know when you don't.

Now get back to the discussion and stick to it.

Stentor, do you own anything made in China? Do you like Commies? This is silly talk.

Let's see, VE4MM's profile states that he owns a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500. And VE4MM has made it very clear in recent posts that he has a very negative opinion of Carroll Shelby (CS).
If I had a real beef with CS I probably would have elected to purchase a non-Shelby Mustang instead of a Shelby GT500 (e.g., get a Ford Mustang GT and tune it).

Following your "interesting" analogy, if I had a beef with the Chinese, I certainly wouldn't intentionally go out of my way to pay a premium for their product (when a suitable substitute was readily available at a lower cost).

Pretty Simple.

I am not so sure that CS has changed that much since 2007 (given that you have a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500).

Stentor, you were entitled to respond on your own behalf, and did so swimmingly...now that's it.

Next person to interrupt my slumber caused by this rather boring same-ol-sh!t-different-day thread gets a few days off.

I assume y'all have no questions.

Jamo 12-29-2008 11:24 AM

I'm sure most of the CC audience doesn't even remember where that classic line was morphed from.

Stentor,

I picked up my 07 GT500 in Sept. 2006.

I built my FFR Cobra in 1998.

I also have many other cars in my collection.

I have about 100 Shelby books as well.

The cars are nice.........

And I have a lot of money too.

That kind of boasting doesn't add to the thread.

Stay on the topic of the issue at hand and limit the crosstalk and bickering OK?

...or has all that needs to be said been said by now? :p

thanks

Saw that the actor who played the California surfer in "that movie" passed away just the other day.

And now you're trying to make me feel OLD! Is there no end to the cruelty?? (and for the benefit of our younger readers, the quote was from the film The Sound of Music, when the Von Trapp family tried to take out an injunction to stop some foul-mouthed 'actress' from trampling all over their meadows)

I'll get this thread off-topic if it kills me......

ZOERA-SC7XX 12-29-2008 03:56 PM

I wonder why Amy (Shelby's secretary/manager) hasn't been around here for a while. Could it be she can't/won't take the heat with all the FFR support here? She was in full 'damage control' mode (good cop, bad cop) after the last lawsuit, but maybe now she's embarrassed by Shel's latest tirade. Maybe she's just lurking about, trying to pick up as much scuttle-butt as possible without stirring up too much doo doo. I'm sure she saw this coming.

FWIW, she posted an hour or two ago on another thread complimenting the customer service at Shelby.... http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=92842

The only slightly amusing part of all this is-
Considering all the replica manufacturers that have gone out of business over the years, Shelby Enterprises will probably be able to do this every 5 years or so just to get the "new guys" attention......
Most of them seem to go out of business without any help at all from Shelby......;) who do you suppose is next????

Bob

You're right! It's just a rotating shakedown of the replica manufacturers.

The old man gets a hair up his a$$ one day and someone has to pay.
