You are missing the point.
According to FFR, from their 1st lawsuit they won, they were allowed to use the 65 Coupe design.
Screw Shelby, he missed the boat many years ago when he f*cked-off to Africa to find another money making scheme.
Tough Luck Shelby.............can't win em all you greed monger.

If it was that clear-cut, there would be no lawsuit. You are missing the point...I am not taking Shelby's side. EVEN IF HE HAS NO CLAIM, he is still spending money dragging companies to court, and that costs HUGE money to defend. Do you wait on him to attack, or do you take pre-emptive measures?

That's the point. Who gets that huge money? The lawyers.
Nothing in the US court of Law is clear cut. If it was, then there would be no reason to spend more money.

If you've got such a beef with CS, why do you own a Cobra replica and a new Shelby Mustang?

So CS is cool with the "harm to his brand" if you pay for the right to continue that "harm"? Sorta makes you wonder whether he really thinks his "brand" has been harmed at all. Maybe the SPF deal Shelby made will actually help FFR. Oh the humanity!

I thought it was a fair question. Can you established forum members not debate and discuss a subject without attacking other posters personally?

Then again, newbies should respect the fact that established folks have gone through these discussions more than a few thousand times over the past several years on many different levels and nothing really new has been offered in this thread...so it might be a bit presumptuous of newbies to instruct others how to make their point so long as it stays within bounds.
I think the response was within bounds.
That being said, everyone stay within the bounds. We'll let you know when you don't.
Now get back to the discussion and stick to it.

Let's see, VE4MM's profile states that he owns a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500. And VE4MM has made it very clear in recent posts that he has a very negative opinion of Carroll Shelby (CS).
If I had a real beef with CS I probably would have elected to purchase a non-Shelby Mustang instead of a Shelby GT500 (e.g., get a Ford Mustang GT and tune it).
Following your "interesting" analogy, if I had a beef with the Chinese, I certainly wouldn't intentionally go out of my way to pay a premium for their product (when a suitable substitute was readily available at a lower cost).

I am not so sure that CS has changed that much since 2007 (given that you have a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500).

Stentor,
I picked up my 07 GT500 in Sept. 2006.
I built my FFR Cobra in 1998.
I also have many other cars in my collection.
I have about 100 Shelby books as well.
The cars are nice.........
And I have a lot of money too.

That kind of boasting doesn't add to the thread.
Stay on the topic of the issue at hand and limit the crosstalk and bickering OK?
...or has all that needs to be said been said by now?
thanks

What date was that? I may need to trade mine in for an older model.
