Default Hey There Brent!

Hi Brent,
Glad to see you are recovering and writing to all of us. I too can say that ClubCobra has been a very positive impact on my life, and many friends. I just realized I've been a member coming up to 10 years myself. Wow, it's been that long since my first Cobra. I saw your note here about WSCB... and just wanted to comment on that some if I may. I know you know this, but others may not...

WSCB was started, developed, and carried out all through Clubcobra and because of members who wanted to put faces to the names. As we talked about more than a few at WSCB, if you had not created Clubcobra, there would have never been a Western States Cobra Bash, and a LOTof people would never met to become close friends. Now there are sub-groups and sub-events as a result, again..., all because of CC and one thing that lead to another.

I too am 8-weeks post-op now, and as I'm sure you are aware - these downtime periods always give one time to reflect on life and what's important.

What's important for me to convey is how appreciative so many of us are that you created and shared ClubCobra with all of us. Thanks again Brent. Speedy recovery brother, and Happy New Year! DC

Well Brent, I've only been a member of this community for less than a year but already I could not do without this site and the remarkable forums found here. I have received so much invaluable help and support form the members here that I can say without reservation that this is a great community asset you have created and a resource without which my dream car and my current 408 engine build project would not have been possible. Together we represent all the knowledge that alows even the weakest of us to be strong and have available whatever information we need only a question or "post" away. Someone always has the experience or knowledge any of us might be desperately needing at any time we need it. All we need to do is ask thanks to this site.
Sorry to hear your "down for maintainance" but wishing you a speedy recovery and a grea 2009!
This is a truly great resource which you have created and getting better all the time.
Don

Brent,

Thank you for all that you have done for all of us and also a big thanks to Jamo and CW for helping you to make the club what it is today. Sorry that you have to spend another Holiday in the hospital, but once that is over you will be better than ever. I have met and gotten to know some of the nicest people ever on CC and it is a daily ritual for me to spend time on it.

Best wishes for you and you lovely wife and may this year be the best ever for all of us. You will be in my prayers.

Turk, sorry that I forgot you. It wans't long after I joined that Jamo took your place. I hope that the New Year finds you well and everything is much better than the last year.

Ron

Default Same Back To You Brent From 'down Under'.

Brent,

I know what you have been through. I had my Gall Bladder removed about 20years ago and its the best result as far as operations are concerned. I haven't had any problems since and can eat whatever I choose. Prior to its removal, if I had accesss to a large calibre firearm when I was having my attacks, which incidentally are far worse than child birth so I've been told by the experts, I would gladly have blown my ugly head off.

I hope that you fully recover as soon as possible. I bet your wounds are not like mine. 20 years ago, they sliced you from the middle of the chest down to your naval, which leaves a most attractive scar. Then you go and have Open Heart Surgery which I had in 1990 and they continue that scar right up to my throat. I look like like the living victim of a Post Mortem.

In 2007 I had a complete shoulder replacement on the right side. In September, 2008, I had my right kneee done and two days before Christmas in 2008, had my right knee done. I feel a lot better now. I should live a long and happy life with my Cobra which should be finished by April, 2009 (That's if I can can get in and out of it of course.)

If you have a couple of small puncture wounds in your stomach from the Arthroscopic Gall Bladder surgery, dont feel too bad about it. Your pretty fortunate.

On behalf of all your avid reader's 'Down Under', I would like to wish all you U.S. Cobraphiles a healthy and prosperous 2009.

My only suggestion as far as the Web Site is concerned is this. The Forum has spread right around the world, which is really fantastic. A large number of us also do a fair bit of International travel. What I would like to see, especially in these economically unstable times, is that we should use each other through this Forum to secure free accomodation at our homes, local tours etc., when we are holidaying or visiting other overseas countries which have a link to this Forum. It's a two way street and I for one, would be willing to participate in that type of a program. I would even suggest 'Meet and Greets' at the airport as this can be a difficult time in a strange Country for the traveller who hasn't been to that location before.

Not only would it cement relations between members of the Club around the world, but it would also reduce the cost of overseas holidays.

Just a thought. Hope to hear your response. and get well soon.

Regards Baz.

Default best wishes

Hello Brent,
all the best wishes for 2009 from Luxembourg and a quick recovery. You have certainly noticed that my car is just 10 numbers lower then your's? As I work on other projects too, KMP276 is at last almost finished. I hope to be able to take it on the road the first days of spring. It has a FIA body, I just finished the wiring and dash like on the FIA cars. The engine is a '65 HiPo which I had through a friend in Ohio. He also rebuilt it, it has the Autolite 4V carburetor, 271HP. As I intend to drive it only on sunny days, it won't have a top, heater and such accessories. I'll send you some pictures when it's ready.
All the best, Jean.

Brent I think we all told you at the Double Venom Spring Fling that drinking Raki through your nose with the guys in the pictures posted by Jamo that your body would fail you and now you have lost both your appendix and gallbladder. Get well and stay away from that group and have a Happy New Year.

What a great story! I wish you a speedy recovery too.

I appreciate Club Cobra for all the advice and information I have found, going on three years.

I stumbled on CC, right AFTER I made a deposit to Street Beasts for my Cobra. I "vented" pretty good on CC to start, but was quickly encouraged by other Street Beasts owners on CC, that it could all work out.

In 2008, I tried to sell my "un-started" kit on Craigs list and e-bay, about three times each: failing each time. I told my wife I only had one choice: build it. Now, as I told her, "the Gates of Hell" can't stop me now!

I ran into problems with the way the rear end was lining up, right off the bat. I turned to Club Cobra Street Beasts owners again, and got a solution to my problem.

I know Street Beasts owners are in the minority on Club Cobra, but we are just as proud as any others.

I thank all of the members of Club Cobra for being so willing to share what they have experienced and how they solved problems.

Happy New Year Club Cobra and keep it going!

Sincerely,

Default happy new 2009

Happy new Year 2009 to all, hopefull fast recovery for you Brent (you also lost some weight in the process as I see!) and happy birthday for Clubcobra.

This has been the most productive site I am a member off. I would not have dared getting so deeply involved into the mechanics of my cobra had it not been for the information and help I found in this forums.
A great site. Congratulations.

Default Many thanks!

I still am collecting parts/pieces ( and $$$) for my Cobra. Getting closer! I have met many nice people here and helped some with Ford distributor work. Have a SPEEDY recovery and give that Cobra a fast ride for me............Tim O'Connor www.428cobrajetcars.homestead.com

Default Great site--Happy Anniversary

Thanks to you and all for the help that this site provided! I'm still quite the "newbie, but I am lovin' fulfilling my Cobra 427 childhood fantasy at 50. Sad thing is, I waited too long--great site, wish I had discovered it years ago.

I guess I've been a member for about 7 years now. I believe my first post was after I had just test driven an SPF up at Dynamic Motorsports in Ross, OH.

I've learned a lot since I became a member. I've also made a lot of friends.

Happy New Year to all. Here's to another good one.

I don't have a Cobra but I've enjoyed the website over the years and I even attended a Spring Fling in London, OH one year with my 2002 Z06.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and a Happy New Year.
