That statement couldn't be more false. The billboards are an awesome all around Cobra tire. The right look, great grip, great wet traction, good treadwear, and a nice ride.

Sorry but.. BS. I can't even begin to tell you how many threads I've read over the years about their tracking ability for "normal" driving. Don't get me wrong, they look awesome but it's not for a driver.

And what you've read is those tires on cars not setup right. It's all in the alignment. These tires grip. If you're alignment is not right (and I'd bet 9 out of 10 Cobras are not right) then you are going to feel it from the tires doing their jobs.

BTW, I've got over 8k miles on my car with billboards. I've driven through all kinds of weather and roads. You can call BS all you want, but you've said you've never had them on your car, and I (and many others here who love them) do have them and racked up miles on them, so not sure what other kind of "proof" you need???

I have seen factory Goodyear BB tires that the white lettering was misaligned straight out of production in all varing degrees.

Is it possible to remove the factory white lettering and then using the stencils paint the letters back on in a more suitable fashion with a paint product that will endure??

Sorry but Sal is right. I had them on my car and loved driving on them. They were a handful before getting the alignment right. I put almost 5000 miles on them before I sold the car and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

10k on the magnificent basturds...track, street, rain, snow, grooved freeways, etc. Muy goodo, and they are at one with a reproduction of a 1960's sportsracer.

I have to agree with Sal, Jamo, and xlr8or.

I put close to 5000 miles on mine last year and they are great. They do flat spot (who cares), and they do sometimes follow a rut. However my wife's Jeep SRT/8 with the Goodyear run flats is worse in the ruts. In fact that Jeep is a POS in my opinion, but that would be another thread.

I liked mine until I wore them out after a good bit of miles. I would buy them again.

I have to agree with Sal, Jamo, xlr8or and Silverback51.

They are especially impressive in the wet IMO. I drove almost 1,000 miles to the Le Mans Classic last summer in torrential rain with total confidence, while other "normal" cars were having grip and aquaplaning problems.

My bad... I was under the impression from all that I've read over the years that because of the tires bias-ply design, they were not well mannered on the street and tend to hunt. Sorry to perpetuate the misinformation. The look simply can't be matched.

After 5,000 miles, my Goodyear Eagle GT II 295 50 15 rears are toast. The fronts are still fine. The only problem is Goodyear is backordered for about 8 weeks on that particular size. If my fronts were gone, I'd go for the Goodyear big letter racing tires (and will do so the next go round), but meanwhile, I am left to look for two Eagle GT II rears. If anybody can help me source a pair, I'd appreciate it. I'm in Los Angeles, so the closer the better.

You must have been smokin' those tires! I've got about 5K miles on some Avids and they look like they're new. What year were your GT II's manufactured? You may just want to replace all 4 now.

Sal, and others that have driven with them. Are they rock throwers, if so, how bad ? I have leather spats on my quarters to cover up the pebble chips now.

I don't know,...... , if I spray them with Armorall and get them nice and shinny, the off white letters will look like poop,....hum,...... Kidding of course.

They are sticky and do throw rocks. But not any worse than Avons.

My Good Year II's are as hard, as stone, and I still have chips. I've always wanted to try a set of billboards, the large letters and tread design just look cool.
I wish someone local had a set I could try out.
