A tube chassis, modern brakes, tires, new LS7 motor and T56 tranny...that could be alot of fun. And you wouldn't have to listen to all the purists rant at the local car show that you cut up one of their precious 'lil cars (wait, wait...that might be the best part, those early 'vette guys are a little kooky).

Era grand sport roadster
ZOERA-SC7XX,
I was thinking about the car that you can see on the ERA site under Run and Gun 2000.

"......cut up one of their precious 'lil cars....." ?????
These precious little cars are going for six-figures today (high six-figures for a 67 BB). Why would someone want to cut one of these cars up to make a "clone" and dramatically reduce it's value?
Much better to purchase a replica, IMHO.

A shop in our Long Island NY area with a racing background had a blue/white striped replica Grand Sport built by Mongoose . It was a beautiful car powered by a 502 BB. I thought the car was phenomenal ! I recall about 10 years ago watching a Grand Sport rumble past a restaurant as we ate dinner. I immediately said Wow ! If I ever got out of my cobra replica that's what i'd want ! I told a few guys in our cobra club who did get to see it. I was sure the Grand Sport would be a big hit in our area. The shop manager drove the car every day. As folks admired the car he passed out literature with offers for turnkey delivery. They had the car on consignment for much of this past summer driving it 2-3 nights per week to car shows and cruise nights. It made two appearances at a weekly 1000+ musclecar cruise night . The Grand Sport always had a small crowd around it but not one serious sale offer. The car was eventually returned to Mongoose who I undestand may have entertained a late offer by one interested customer.
I realize much sales depends upon the person presenting it but I truly thought this car would just....sell itself !! Nada.
I believe this ad depicts the actual model car my friend was showing around.

I loved the 62 Corvette. I think it's my favorite of all time.
