Trailer Rental
Does anyone know of a place that rents encloced trailers to bring a car from sc to rockford area ? I thought it would be kool if a rental agency (buget, uhaul etc.)would rent a one way so I could pick it up in sc and bring it back north....At least on the way down I could drive 80+....I could use a friends 20' but I mite have to wait a couple extra weeks....Thanks

I know u haul does one way rentals. Or at least they use to. Or fly down, rent a budget truck, stop at Home Depot and build two long ramps and drive the car into the back. Just thinking out of the box.

If I could drive the car up those home made ramps BEFORE I paid for the car I would do it....I didnt think uhaul rented car trailers(enclosed).

Sorry, I don't think they have enclosed ones either.
Just make sure you insure it before you drive up the ramps. LOL

I say fly down and drive it home. Nothing like getting to know your new car like a road trip!!!

I am not sure about all places but two Summers ago we went to every rental place in Northern Calif. to try and find an enclosed car trailer and they all said they knew of none that had them for rent.

Call the people you are buying from and see if there is a loading dock in the area that can be used and get the budget truck from the rental agency.

Sparks
you should of stayed in contact with me---we came back from PRI with trailer with only one car in it and had room for two. There are several trailer companies around---maybe they need a trailer picked up and brought back from a factory down that way

Smart decision...that is wait to use your friends trailer. First of all it's enclosed, second the price is most likely right, and do you know that those U-Haul dealers are very expensive for one way trips or for a week at a time.
Patience is always the best way, best of luck, Bill

I couldn't find one last year...
You might check out the transporters. At the time I was trying to get mine home gas was about $4 a gallon and they were actually cheaper than the open trailer one way ??? Their rates might be pretty reasonable right now given the price of fuel and the slow economy . I finally had a trusted mature 16 year old fly down and drive it home....
