Basically two routes, dry chemical or Halide.
Dry chemical is the cheapest, but leaves a heck of a mess for clean-up.
Halide (Halon) is the safest, cleanest and most expensive.
I don't know if outside of track use that Cobras are any more prone to fires than any other street car. Electrical conductivity is not that big of a factor on a 12v car system.
