No track key with Coyote, and not fully forged internals in Coyote, among other things explains the Boss price difference.

2012 BOSS 302 5.0L 444HP CRATE ENGINE -- M-6007-M50B

BTW, the TracKey is a big disappointment to those of us that bought a Boss. It adds noise and more compression braking but little else.

Google Bruce Cambern cobra #3170, he won the Optima track challenge with an FE, It was designed to do both.

I'm not hung up on anything. The post I responded to was a clip of an SPF with a Coyote doing burnouts on the street, so I paralleled his post with a clip of a drag racing encounter.

I'm sure there are/were a couple of reasonably successful 427 Cobras on the road race course too. To be sure, I would have to check my Shelby World Registry though, because I don't have those 427 Cobra facts at my fingertips.

427 comp cars did have success in USRRC. For example 1966 Sebring first in class CSX 3016. Numerous SCCA A production titles.
