Google Bruce Cambern cobra #3170, he won the Optima track challenge with an FE, It was designed to do both.

I'm not hung up on anything. The post I responded to was a clip of an SPF with a Coyote doing burnouts on the street, so I paralleled his post with a clip of a drag racing encounter.
I'm sure there are/were a couple of reasonably successful 427 Cobras on the road race course too. To be sure, I would have to check my Shelby World Registry though, because I don't have those 427 Cobra facts at my fingertips.

There was also the DragonSnake"For a lot of us me included it is about drag racing, when it needs to be.Fortunetly these cars can be great road course cars, provided they are set up correctly.Win or lose in the end with my name on the title I will always win! Yes, I got it a long time ago when I hoped and prayed that one day I could own one of these fantastic vehicles, and finally did. This car satisfies me in every way, immune from any critisizm by anyone.Walking through the shop and seeing it sitting there is enough to stir the emotions, life is good.I own the best bang for the buck it's called a COBRA powered by a big block FORD!
