Installing motor mounts

I was thinking of installing mounts myself...I have a lift w/jacktrays but dont have a engine lift...Is there a certain spot that i should put the jack under the engine to take wght of old and install new mounts, or is a hoist the only way ? They are the poly mounts from craigayl and its a 427so engine....Any tricks or helpful hints would be great,THANKS
