The Coupe, 6 years/12,000 miles

MKIII 6 years and 0 miles ( it's really in great shape)

Since I live about 20 yards from the shop and only travel when neccesary, plus have several other vehicles....I guess not bad. When I finally have time to put the engine in the roadster the miles per year MAY go down on the Coupe, but I doubt it

I built it 6 years ago, 12000 miles. Would be more miles but I like taking things apart :D

emberglo66 04-08-2009 11:46 AM

2 Years and 9100 miles.

franklin 04-08-2009 11:55 AM

Just over 1 week since I finished the car and got it licensed and I'm up to a whopping 160 miles.

Woodz-If you would stay away from those reality shows and Dancing With the Stars you could finish the MK III in about a month! :)

Are you coming back to Run N Gun this year? We would like to see you put your son in the MK III and see what kind of times he can really set.

This is the hard-core list

I wonder what percentage of the folks in this sport can say "6 months, 200 miles - sold car". Speaking for Atlanta, very few of the guys I used to ride with are still in the game.

pcoghlan 04-08-2009 12:22 PM

Well there is of course a story behind it but I have owned mine since May 2002 and it now has 390 miles on it.

It spent the first 6 years of its life in storage while I emigrated here to the US. It only made the journey last summer and I only in the last few weeks got it on the road.

So, I am averaging 55.7 miles a year. WELL within what my insurance allows! :D

4 years and 3,433 miles.

Dinobyte 04-08-2009 02:13 PM

3 years

4,300 miles

An Avg of 1,433 miles per year, which I think will go up dramatically starting this year.

I think we need to break this down to the the people that live in states that have driving weather year round and the people that don't.:D:cool:

Built and titled it in 1998 - In Maine
Most of the miles done From Maine.
Now am added them on driving in the warm - and frequently wet south!

on my 5th windscreen, 2 transmission, 4th rear clutch pack, lost count of the number of rear tires - they just seem to wear out faster! On my second engine, 3rd driver seat, and 2 soft top.

Current at 387,468 miles as of 4/09/2009

acindrich 04-09-2009 11:24 PM

Are you talking mentally or physically?
Mentally I've driven to the moon and back.
Physically probably 100 miles total including track days in little brothers car up at Miller Motorsports park.
Hopefully that is all about to change. KMP 493 is soon to be mine and I hope to stimulate the economy with fuel purchases.

You da man! :MECOOL:

rbutton 04-10-2009 09:30 AM

Not that I have not "earned" any tickets BUT so far none!
I have been stopped a number of times to discuss my "rapid travel" on the interstates but none have written up a ticket. 'Course now I'm in for it! :D

Now that I'm back... here... I'll start posting more pictures of the travels and of this awesome country you get to see while traveling in your car. Each trip or ride I discover more of this country - old communities that still have a Main Street, Town Squares, older garages that are THE meeting place for the locals, and country cross roads stores that are filled with really kool stuff!
