Opening the hood latches after a drive was my method of getting broken in. Wasn't paying close attention, but I think I will in the future.

Here are two posible solutions to the burn problems around the cobra.

Install a small 12"x12" welding blanket on each side door sill. Just roll it out and then roll it back when done entering or exiting the hot car. Blankets are held on with two small straps attached to the inside sills with snaps.

Arm protection: Eliminate those pesky scraps and burns while working on the hot motor by simply sliding on a couple of Gym Socks over your arms, with the feet portion cut off. The socks offer good protection when reaching down alongside the motor.

These two solutions have save me a lot of "hurt".

Default Hot Pipes

YES !! They are HOT !
My wife burned her leg thru her jeans. She still has a football shaped burn mark on the back of her left leg.
