Default Hank Williams Cobra 289--did he order a two barrel originally?

At Knotts Berry Farm Fabulous Fords show I saw Hank Williams car, and somebodytold me that originally it had a two barrel.
My question is, I know the 260 cu. in. Ford V8 (might have been called The Challenger) in the Falcon Sprint of '62 was a two barrel but I thought when Shelby put the 260 in the Cobra it was a four barrel, with a huge jump in horsepower (the Falcons was 164 hp.). Probably the intake manifolds were interchangable but is it possible old Hank was thinking of gas economy and wanted a two barrel and ordered it that way? Gas back the was like 32 cents a gallon so I didn't think any Americans were thinking of gas mileage (I had a car with a 34 gallon gas tank and I think it didn't even cost $20 to fill it!)

PS that Falcon engine was great. It was higher winding than a 289, and made that Falcon sing...

Wally,
You're spreading confusion again...Herbie Hancock's Cobra came with a two-barrel carburetor not Hank Williams.

Herbie Hancocks Cobra
Under the hood of CSX2006 was a high-performance 245hp 260 engine and interestingly is the only known cobra ever equipped with a two barrel carburetor.

I thought Hank Williams died long before the Cobra was produced, he could have had a Cunningham. Maybe it was Hank Williams Jr......but he would have been pretty young at that time....hmmmm....

Ah yes, and if you ever met "THE" Hank Williams (Cobra owner) you would never confuse him with the singe by the same name . Same goes for his "vintage" travel trailer and "custom" van/tow vehicle......

Well, I have not seen much of Bill Murrary in movies since Ghost Busters II. Maybe he is too busy restoring and racing Cobras.

It's all about the "gears". My old and HEAVY Excalibur had a stock 220-225 horse 302 with a 3.5 rear and T5 ultra low first and second gear ratio. Would easily fry the tires, "fast enough" to bring the read end out if you weren't paying attention. 0-60 was decent enough, power fell off real bad as you approached a 100 mph and forget about 5th gear helping at that speed!

Great story when Herbie wanted to buy the car sitting in the showroom and the salesman 'prejudged' the customer.

The rest of the story,as they say, is in the Registry

You mean this Hank Williams? Right next to CSX 2006 on the pier in Santa Monica?

Here's CSX 2006 on September 6, 2008.
