Look at the face of the speedo and tach closely on the Smiths and the Autometers. There is a raised center circle stamped/embossed into the face of the Smiths. The Autometers tried to mimic this cheaply by having two "half-moons" painted in the center of the face to give the appearance from 10 ft away of the stamped/embossed raised center of the Smiths.
