Personally, I have never had an MSD failure. I did have two Dura-spark boxes eat it. So I chose to run a redundant ignition system straight out of a Winston cup car! (Gotta love EBAY! I paid like $370.00) It was a beautiful part, Two HVC 6 boxes, two HVC coils, Deutsch connectors, rev limiter, noise filter. I cut the mounting plate to fit the car and wired it using the tech info on the MSD web site.
It’s nice to just flip a switch and be on a whole different system.

FYI there is a similar Crane based rig on ebay right now

I replaced the box, which was not a MSD, and all is well. The check I did to generate a spark using the MSD instructions was obviously inappropriate.

The dealer had a brand new coil and box which was not going to be used for the Roush 427 Injected version install so he gave them to me.

The new coil didn't help so I have no idea if it was bad. Once the new box was connected, the engine fired up imediately.

Lesson learned, don't leave the ignition on.

The box is located in the passenger footwell.

Thanks for all the help.

Are you using the standard Dura-Spark box that came with the car?

The duraspark box can be purchased at autozone for about $19.99 with a lifetime warranty. Quick plug and play change. Hopefully you had one die due to infant moratlity if not PM I may be able to lead you to a cause.
