Thanks!

Gotta get one of those Bucos.

Thanks for posting the C/D article. I love reading this kind of stuff. In fact, I am putting an open request for any and all road tests, reviews, etc. of any type of original or "replica" road tests, either individually or against other cars, vintage or new, whatever. Thanks in advance.

I wonder how they would rate the car today in regard to creature comforts.;):D

Back in the 60's when occasionally you would see a Cobra at a dealership, the whole southern part of the state knew about it.We had a big block Cobra here in So Maine back then. The dealership was constantly cleaning the drool from all the lads looking the beast over. Those cars back then were a real handful, compared to the new drivelines of today.I'm glad it worked out the way it did, even having to explain all the time that mine is not an original. It's better I built it, tuned it and drive it every chance I get.!!!!!

Have you seen this page?

Argess 08-23-2009 04:08 PM

Great CD article. It's been reprinted in one of the many Cobra books I've acquired...er...well, not that many.....3???

What I've been looking for for quite some time is vintage footage of Cobra's in action, especially the 427. Nothing so far.......

Link above has videos.....3 of 4 are no longer available.......sigh.....

oh, and the one that is......my oh my......$605,000 for a 289???? But the girl comes with the car....could be a benefit......

fastd 08-23-2009 06:22 PM

Strictly Personal,

I have indeed seen your "history" page and have read every one. You were kind enough to give me copy of a January '83 Motor Trend Mag when I was up visiting last year. I hadn't seen the Car & Driver mag posted on this thread and it left me wondering what else is out there...Thanks again.

strictlypersonl 08-23-2009 06:40 PM

The Victory by Design videos are still around.
Google Search

I will correct the links when I get a few minutes. There's also the possibility that I saved the last one to my hard drive but it will take some searching.

I'm sure they would consider it comfortable. I do :) Kind of like skiing on a slab of granite, but if you're in the mood. I have never had my Cobra out that I didn't get some recognition.

Thanks Bob; I found just a snipet of a Victory by Design video on the internet - good stuff.

Great Article,

Here is the cover from Sports Car Graphic November 1966.

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...966_Cobra2.jpg

The article road tested and pointed out all of the differences between the 21 427SC race cars and the 348 427 Street Roadsters. This article is the basis for my desire to have a Street Roadster and not the 427 SC.

The speedometer in the test car appears to have a "normal" clockwise speedometer. Interesting.

That article is included on the ERA "History" page

Tony Ripepi 08-24-2009 01:32 PM

Hi Guys,

A few years ago the folks at ERA asked me to send my copy of the magazine, they copied it, posted it on their web site and returned it safely. At one of the BACC annual dinners one of the guys in the print copy trade made 75 copies and we handed them out at the door for everybody.

Jamo 08-24-2009 01:39 PM

Cool...so can I have a copy? :p

Tony Ripepi 08-24-2009 01:59 PM

Hi Jamo,

Let me look into getting some full color prints made and I would be happy to send you one.

Hmmmmm Let's see now "Quid pro Quo" we need to talk.
