I am not however suggesting that one of these panels are worth $60K. The restoration world of these cars, as anyone who is inclined, or collects or restores them will tell you, is an entire different game than the recreation/reproduction Cobra business. They are at entirely different ends of the spectrum and this should go without saying.

PS, if I would hang them on the wall, I wouldn't have to tell anyone they are real, because they ARE real.

Yep, most of us know and appreciate original cars, and we have many members here who own original cars.

And to answer your question, if I had an original car that needed a complete body panel replacement, I would have no problem getting one from one of the modern Cobra body craftsman out there. It's just a sheet of aluminum; as long as it's the right shape, once it's on the car and painted it doesn't matter where it came from.

And in the world of original Cobras, repaired is still repaired. It doesn't matter the source for the replacement panel, once it has to be replaced, the car has been tainted.
