I'm not surprised, anymore, at the EXTREME low mileage we see on some, if not MANY, Cobras (CSX, ERA, Kirkham, whatever). I can't quite wrap my head around it either, but it's fairly common. Consider MY ERA. According to the mileage on the TITLE when I bought it and transferred that title to my name, the previous owner had driven the car LESS THAN 500 MILE. He owned it 3 or 4 years! I asked him about that and got a couple of impessions but no distinct answer. ONE: It was a beast to drive! Scary fast, tempermental, a real brute. Even I had difficulty getting a handle on the quirky hell raising motor. TWO: It was a terrific piece of "art" to have in the garage and show off. For some, that's enough.

For $60K, I'd take a fiberglass CSX, let alone an aluminum one.

As for driving my car, it's just about "time allocation", if you know what I mean.

I think for this one in particular upper 60's is about right for me probably not the seller but that is his problem as usual they keep the car I keep the cash LOL. There was a Kirkham on cobra country with two intake systems fully documented car with shelby aluminium block for $85K. That is the one I tried to buy. I was third on the list and the first guy on the list bought it. I called within 24 hours. I dont have a problem at $85K with a shelby aluminium block etc but that is at the top of my range and it has to be the perfect one for me.

This car just seams to have some wear on it which is fine at the right price.

I am referring to the Kirkham, sorry for any confusion!!!! The CSX is a whole different story.

Gotta love my wife, she says no problem with two cobras, LOL. I told her maybe a cobra and gt40 but not two cobras. If a buy a Kirkham the SPF has to go.

Actually I suspect the Kirkham simple doesn't show well in the pictures as opposed to has more miles than indicated. Take the tires for instance, buying Goodyear Bill Boards is a bit of a crap shoot. You may well get some OLD tires, that are NEW in the sense they've never been mounted. That doesn't mean their not 10 years old all ready! You can't really judge from the lettering, which yellows within a year or so. For the letters to be scuffed it only takes ONE brush with the curb. Tread depth doesn't mean near as much as "weather cracking" due to age.

Dirty engine? I can relate! Man it's hard to keep those intakes clean. All it takes is ONE test and tune session to spill some gas on the intake and BAM, you gotta a stain. Not easy to remove. But there is a LOT that could have been done to make the engine area at least more presentable. Like wipe down the dist cap and the valve covers if nothing else! Vacuum the carpet would be a nice touch, DUH!

Even the body could use a good scotch brite going over. Anyway, clearly this a guy who is taking a beating on the car, is depressed and just wants it to go away. As such the buyer is in a good position to "low ball" the price. Then spruce it up with a little elbow grease to looking brand new with a DAY of work. Could be a real deal here. The best deals on a used car always happen with a car that is DIRTY, I love to buy them that way. :)

The Kirkham WILL NOT reach $85K, no way, not when it's "that dirty" in THIS market.

Didn't the Kirkham on Cobra Country with the Webers and the single quad manifold sell for 90K+? I do know that it was for sale earlier in the year, sold, and then the new owner put it back up for sale again recently. Did it sell again?

Hang in there Sal. It's just a matter of time before that car sells. It's priced fairly and it's beautiful. You just have to keep the face up though that you don't need to sell it.;)

I looked at the ebay Kirkham today. If anyone is serious about bidding PM and I will give my opinion. The car was layered with 2-3 years worth of dust so as far as the actual condition of the body I could not give details on scratches if any. I asked and he said you cant wash them with water you have to use windex? Why a car cover was not used will forever be one of those unsolved mysteries, LOL.

Interesting comments. Last year I spoke with a fellow from Texas with a Kirkham built by Kirkham for 75k. It seems a Shelby may not be completely out-of-line at 90 something. For this car to get much past the 90s would be really something.

As far as this Kirkham, I feel I could build one new like this one, not like I would build it, for $75K. Note this is my opinion, no one else, I am not a proclamined cobra expert. Compared to my SPF this car was RAW. I stick with my original price point when I originally posted, this car is worth $64 to $66K in my opinion if there are no hidden engine gremlins etc.
