Talking October Fix Academy at the Glen

Well, i bit the bullet and committed to all three days at the Glen October 5-7. I can't wait to actually run with everyone from Club Cobra. I have never run the Glen or a high speed- long track so it should be an experience.

who is going?
where are you staying?

by the way: the online application asked for personal goals while attending the school.

i said

to become smoother, faster, and pass Steve Sunshine on a straight, one time during the weekend!!!!!!!!!!

just kidding on that one.

Default Better call Lauren Fix

Dan,
Before you get too excited about running the Glen you better have a talk with Lauren Fix. Instructors no longer allowed in any open cars at Driving Ambitions. If you have no experience at the Glen I doubt they will let you run open track (no instructors in car) in the experienced group. That leaves a lead follow type of instruction, with you following an instuctor aroun the track at a controlled speed. If I am instructing that group don't expect to go much over 90 mph by yourself without any input from an instructor. Not a very good way to learn the track, but at least you will get out there. If you are experienced at other tracks she may let you in the open group and then we will all have a good time chasing a427sc.

cranky,

thank you for the heads-up. i would like to do some lead-follows, and a ride or two with an instructor before I open it up anyway. i's sure she'll let me run. i'll just hope Paul takes it easy on me in his Trans-AM Car.

I watched his race last week on speedvision from Oregon. excellent job for a rookie in a car severely outdated and out-spent by the big budget teams

look forward to meeting you.
