Default Wheel Standing Cobra

Here's our own David Williams, owner of Fastlane Classic Cars in St. Charles, MO making a pass this past weekend at I-57 raceway.
Notice the 50 ft long 4 feet high wheelie !
At the end of the first pass his NOS line sprung a leak and caught the front of the car ON FIRE at the end of the track. He patched it back together and made 2 more passes that day - all in the 9:30s. I told him he really needs a wheelie bar. Maybe he'll get into the 8s next year.
Way to go David.

I can give you the as much info as I have. Sorry if I can't be too specific, and my info may be off. He changes things every year. This is an Excalibur replica, with a freshly built, fully race prepped 347 SBF with straight pipes, willys carb, 250 shot NOS, hooked to a T-56 with a 9 inch rear, and I think 4.55 gears. He runs 17" wheels. For road racing he has a set of Hoosier R6s, for drag racing he has Hoosier fattys in back (they wrinkle) and pizza cutters up front. I think his HP is around 650. He and I are always joking around that our cars make the same HP, but his car is totally prepped vs. my stock SPF. Additionally, the biggest difference is the nut behind the wheel.

Tell you what. I send him an e-mail and get him to send me the complete and accurate details.

He was running 9:50s last year, and just got to 9:30's with this pass.

Mark, dang, there is nothing on my web page, its blank where the picture should be. Is there any chance you can send the video to me via pm with another application if the video was on you tube? You tube is banned in China.

I would be grateful if I could get a chance to see what you posted, the comments are compelling. Thanks, tin-man

Sorry T - It is on YouTube, and I don't have the original clip. It's not that great of a clip as far as quality, and you can't see the fire. Sorry. I think it was shot with his lipstick camera (usually mounted to the car) but this one was shot from the stands - so no zooming in.

Here's the details of the car:

347 dart block, AFR heads, Bullet hydraulic roller camshaft, victor jr. intake, 830 cfm willys carb, magnum t-56 trans., ford 9inch aluminum mark williams case, 4.30 gears, fabricated upper and lower control arms with solid bushings. It made 740 hp and 750 ft lbs of torque on the bottle and 500hp on the motor.

Fast Lane Classic Cars - Classic Cars and Muscle Cars for sale

No the car is not for sale - it's the owners car. But he always has several Cobras in inventory.

Does he have a stock Excalibur frame? The problem with Cobras and drag racing is that the Cobra has no weight transfer to get the power to the ground, they just want to spin the tires.
