Street TD's and Vintage versions (for larger sizes) are cheap and popular. But check out Roger Kraus for un-used Winston West slicks, cheap also. Generally a hard compound, but they got that great lettering on the side, and besides, they're SLICKS.
Personally, I prefer Atlas Plycrons, and Polyglass/Wide Ovals.
