Default Crankoids Return from the Glen!!!!!!

Ugh! I just woke up after the long haul home from the Glen. What a GREAT time...a few casualties along the way and a few "interesting" developments during the past few days as well.

At some point, I know Cranky, Joe R. and a few others will be posting pics of the event. We had beautiful weather with some rain at night only (kind of killed our normal bonfire evenings, but we took cover under the roof of the Lodge.)

Attendees (Hope I don't ferget anyone):

JM
Cranky
Hank Dondero
Terry Shank (Terry)
Joe Rodimista (JVR)
Rich Alpert (the dreaded CobraNet guy)
Bill & Jens Karns (wgk)
Tim Lewis (Mustang Man) & Greg (last name??)
Bill Connelly (Coupe Bill)
Tom Raddin
Steve Smith (fia#09)
Bob Stevens (a dude with an ERA FIA that was attracted to us like a moth to a flame)

Let's see...where to start.......

We got to the Lodge early Sunday with hopes of actually seeing the town of Watkins Glen.....instead we sat at the lodge, ordered pizza and drank 'good, clean booze' until it was time for tech inspection.

Some folks actually thought were were serious telling them to leave on the sign...they kind of cowered as they approached our cars apologizing, they just wanted to look. We laughed and almost let them drive them....NOT!!!

We get to the track early (I MEAN EARLY...EARLY LIKE ON "CRANKY TIME"... 5:30 AM), set up Club Cranky and get going.
As usual, scheduling is slightly off and almost immediately, folks start oiling down the track.

We began having casualties by midday Monday....

Highlights:

- McHank Dondero loses a head gasket (again!!) and is DNF'd.

- McBill Karns loses oil pressure and snaps his Crankshaft in two and is DNF'd!

- Cranky loses his brakes...fixes them...loses his brakes....fixes them....

- Bill Connelly gets that beautiful Upstate Daytona Swiss Coupe out on the track for its virginal track 'test and tune'. It has been called a 'Shower Stall on Wheels' by the uneducated, but anyone that saw this car up close and personal knows it's poifect! Who want s a ride????? Bill was graciously taking folks out for track sessions in the Coupe, I was one of the lucky ones...it sticks like glue baby!!!!

- JM's rocker arms get 'real noisy on Day one. Fixes them and on Day two, blows the posi unit in the rear and DNF's.

- Joe Rodimista...alias McFIA ...alias the "Barco Lounger Racer" continues to blast the front straight at 150+ and actually looks like he's sleeping while doing it!

- The ERA FIA Boys of Steve Smith and Bob Stevens blasted down the track without incident both days!.

- Tim Lewis, Tom Raddin and Terry Shank ran both days...long and hard, without incident!

- We had a photo op planned for on track but due to the constant oiling of the track, the schedule was changed drastically on Tuesday and we had to do the pics in the pits. People came out of the woodwork to get pics of the Club Cranky Crew. Amazing!
How many other crews are sporting Cobras, a Daytona Coupe and a Grand Sport Corvette????

- Terry Shank had a different woman ( "She's just a friend!") show up each day. Yeah right, "Friends sneak out of yer room at 5:30 in the morning...BUSTED!!!!!

- Tom Raddin showed us the true meaning of what a chef can do with SAUSAGE and Peppers!!!!!!!!! (Johnny Holmes like photo to follow!!)

- I picked up (or should I say she(ep) picked me up) a beautiful little wooly girl. I found her in my bed when I came in Monday night. Ahhhhhh...Zee most bee-yoo-tee-ful wool wearer in all 50 states....she called herself Jamettahhh. We made hot passionate love all night and she quickly forgot about Zee Gasholes!

- Yup, just to please Bonyhadi, I cooked lunch both days, nothing extravagant, just burgers, dogs and Sausage & Peppers (thanks Tom R!). Bony would have gone home hungry!

...Oh yeah...not a big block in sight! Don Durner (our resident FE master) was out of town. WE MISSED YOU McFEZ!!!!

As I remember things, I will update this thread, I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts too.

Another great event with many new members and I hope to see everyone in October, the Club Cranky crew is growing!

Oh yeah...GOOD JOB!!!!!

JM

John,
Sounds like you guys had a ball. I heard they had trouble getting you to come out of your room after you discovered Jamettahhh. Separation anxiety or something.

Going over to took at Bill Karns' blown engine #4. I suggested he get little engine stickers to put on his fender like a fighter pilot.

Here are some pics....

Jammetahhhh gets a kiss:

Jamettahhhh goes racing, yup even sheep can race!

Yup, its a shame about McKarns...Machina Numero Quatro! He's got some baaaaaah'd JuJu going on there. I think I need to bring in a Santeria Specialist to cure his ills Mon!

It was a great time, you should have been there...you would have fit in perfectly!!!!!!

John,
Glad to hear you're all back in one piece, although that's a relative term .

You beat me to it. I was going to ask if Jamettahhh came with a small air stem and bicycle pump . Did you invite her to ride in the car with you??

Who kept oiling down the track? Were there a lot of engine failures, or just broken oil lines, etc...? I take it there were no serious off track incidents to speak of?

And since when did Cranky need or use brakes anyway?!?!

Seriously hope to run with you guys at the Glen and/or VIR next year, along with Pocono.

Steve

P.S. Final details to come, but it looks like my region may be putting on an autocross to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (by my suggestion, i.e. Team Jenny). They'll be counting on me to get lots of Cobras to show up. Tentative date of October 6th, but I'll keep you posted. I see Club Cranky will be at the Glen, but for those that can't make the Glen, this is a good cause to come out for!

Ron,

I think you mean...Watkins Glen's "Thunder Road" is the "Wrecking B1tch" of Club Cranky!!! Those long straights were killing us, driving engine temps up.

Strange, because we have been there when it was hotter, but lots of guys were compalining about their engine temps this time out.

Steve,

A number of cars either lost engines or blew off oil lines. We probably had two or three incidents of each.

McHank,

Glad to hear you have wasted no time and have seen the light of Dr. Crankenhammer in getting a crate moder!!!!!!

In regards to my rear...Jamettahhhh eased my pains last night! I feel better, but smell like a bahn, you cork suckah!

Bony,

Good thing you passed up on the free ride Cranky was offering....he actually got the seat filled by a tall, slim Blonde Chicquita who loved every minute of it!

I asked her afterward if that high speed ride was better than sex and she said the only thing better would be to have sex in the car at speed at the Glen.

...she didn't mention whether THAT fantasy included Cranky.

You must admit she was much better looking than that Ho that was sitting in McStang all day. Woke me up at 4:00 am with all that wrestling and whatever else you two were doing that night.
Maybe I'll post pictures one of these days.

Default Whaaaa??????

Oh yeah....we figured we had a little spare time between race sessions and since someone oiled up the track real good (WHO WAS THAT???) and closed down running sessions for over 2 hours, it screwed up a photo op we had planned on track at lunch time, so we threw this together while we waited for the track to resume racing.

So we had a little car show....Excuse us if they are not perfectly clean... most cars had already been on the track for a day or more.

Pic #1, L to R, cars of:
Bill Connelly, Joe Rodimista, Steve Smith, Terry Shank.

Pic #2, L to R, cars of:
Tim Lewis, Tom Raddin, Cranky, Bill Connelly.

Pic #3, Group Shot:

Pic #4, Group Shot, now including Bob Stevens FIA on left:

Pic #5, Group Shot, now including McStang on right:

Pic #6, Group Shot from rear:

Pic #7, Group Shot of car owners, L to R:
Bob Stevens, Tim Lewis, Tom Raddin, Roger Davis, Bill Connelly, Joe Rodimista, Steve Smith and Terry Shank

Pic #8, Cranky's cool, new all aluminum Show Jack. This is a one off found in the original Shelby American shop in Venice and is worth a ton of money. So, Cranky used it to jack up Bill Karns blown motor.

Missing from the pics are: JM, Rich Alpert, (both too busy taking pics), Hank Dondero and Bill Karns had already left the event due to their engine problems. But both swear they will be running in time for the october event with PDA.

Joh,

Good to see that you guys' social life is not much better than gasholes. Same items for our get togethers too.

Stuffed sheep vs.inflatables, large undergarments, and large genitals. We may have a little variation there. None of our members were ever seen in public wearing prop-genitalia. unfortunately for us, ours go that extra step and embarress us thorougly.

Not too many women in your events either uh?

Have you guys tried dry sumps? That should cut down on oiling the track! It seems not a single BB broke down that day. Good showing for BBs.

Them cars with the fancy paint and decals look like waxer cars to us. Are you all sure you is racers?

Looks like a lot of fun was had by all. Maybe one of these days we will pull it off together and maybe you guys can learn a thing or two from us when it comes to partying. Rookies!!
