I'll be going to Pocono and, hopefully, the Glen next year. One problem.....how do we tell whose jack belongs to who?

Spread The Word
I'll do what I can. In our case, we may be limited to FFR spec racers due to the full cage requirement. I know a few, and will spread the word.

McHank & Cranky,
As I understand it, PDA is still using the single roll bar allowance. Am I wrong? Say it ain't so...

Roscoe,
PDA seems to have their own rules.
Run what you brung.
Gotta be extra careful when you run with PDA you gotta get a point by to pass but invisible point bys are allowed. No passing in corners unless you think you can make it.
Crankoids love PDA rules.
Cranky, also assistant libations guy.

Cranky, et al,
I'll join yuz gladly....
When (and IF) I get my BUTTler in gear I intend to:
1. go to DVSF III---in Clumbs, Hah, right? June-ish.
2. I will be based on Cape Cod---short haul to the 'Glen--especially with some sort of "residentially modified" car-trailer
3. I want to go to some sort of drivers' skoo-it helps me, andit helps my insurance rate: I have opted to do this either
at Bondurant or back east (Louden, NH, OR where you people might suggest---I DON'T want to sandblast a new
paint job at Willow Springs, etc. I do want the seat/lap time BUTT wonder if I need one of them Double roll-bahs
4. Cranky---I have followed your lead on a small-block, right down to Dart--got a hellishly-good build proposal from
Keith Craft---cheaper than two other NON-Dart bids from California! Went for a "square" stroker--more torque than
ponies....The Lord sayeth, yea, whateth worketh in boats shall work, yea, upon the soil...
I'll join your group gladly, unless it's got some truly-baroque initiating ceremony. Well, I'm pretty immune to those anyway, having been in SAE fraternity........
Let's see: FIRST I chug the gallon jar of Gennesee, THEN I screw the black bear, THEN I wrestle the female motorcycle cop from Montour Falls, right?

Looks like we got a new member.
Fred,
Good choice on the moter.
JM is in charge of CC indoctrination. I don't know how it works but there is something about bringing your own blow up date.
Other member feel free to clue in Fred.
McHank is from the Boston area and he is a charter member of CC, I am sure he will show you the way to the Glen.
I do know that new members must provide libations for their first event. See McHank for instructions.
Welcome to Club Cranky

Hi Fred,
It would be nice to have some one from the area to convoy to these events with.
Cranky, I like the new initiation requirement - supply the libations! Awright! I copied you on an email from Art Totten from Ohio on joining our little grope, er, group. Also emailed another couple of guys that have spec cars and may be interested in additional track time.

AYE CARUMBA!!!!!!!
Wow...its recruitment time already??????
It seems that we're picking up 2 to 3 new members with each new race season. Club Cranky is definitely growing and is truly turning into a tight knit club with many great members.
Fred,
I hope you can join the debauchery in 2003! All with a penchant to go fast are welcome! Currently, Watkins Glen is our home base, but with a few new tracks opening up in PA in 2003...we may have to investigate a change of venue!
In regards to indoctrinations...I may have to change the initiation from 'inflatable sex' to a donation to the SDW Engine Fund. It seems SDW is on the fence whether to get a new moder for the McStang or to buy a Kelly Challenge Mustang that seems to be collecting dust near Casa Cranky.
I have not heard any change in the rules for PDA, so maybe they will be the most attended events at Poconos and Watkins Glen.
In additon to the instruction at the driving schools, we have a plethora of both BB and SB talent that will be more than willing to offer advice, tune your car, drink your booze, whatever!
Roscoe,
Whatever it takes...we are getting yer arse to the Glen in 2003! NO EXCUSES!!!!! You fit right in with us, you have already proved that.

Will make at least Pocono...Perhaps even "The Glen" this coming year. We'll see how "Da boy" is doing and go from there.

Keith,
The closest track to Dallas that we run is VIR in Virginia, only 1100 miles from TX.That's a long way to tow to beat up on your car. It is however one of the nicest tracks around and of course our favorite rent a house is located real close to the track.
Not only is it a great track but the boys from below the M/D line are very hospitable to us Yankees and we get almost 100 Cobras doing track time. That's more Cobras on the track than most car shows have on the grass.
You are welcome to come join the Crankoids.

Received an e-mail from Hank and am interested in joining. Spec racer is done, looking for trailer, then to driving schools. Located in Plymouth, Mass. At times, have passed wrenches to Hank during rebuilds (what patience!). Am looking forward to meeting you guys and having fun with the cars. Bob

Bob,
Your in , just check with Hank about the firstimers initiation ceremony.
JM , Make sure you give the Sheep a good bath this time. Looks like we already got two first timers and we want the newbies to have a good time the first night.

If you have a free moment, and i could have a look at your car, I'd appreciate it. I am presedntly tearing my house apart and building a new studio/office---BUTT: 1) I yam buying a Butler and 2) I am eager to see these Spec Racers---heard nothing but good things! If it's convenient, give me a call; I'm only 35 minutes south of you!
