Road America video

Guys, here are a couple of "parade laps" in my Hi-tech cobra at Road America. The second lap is a 2:30. I was running out of brakes but still a good time for me. I am hoping to run in the 2:20's next year. Any advise appreciated. Scott http://www.symbolicepc.com/Client_Se...adAmerica.html

Wow.....I won't get a thing done all day, I'll be watching your video. I love it. My Hi-Tech Cobra has spent some time on that track being that the original owner lives in Milwaukee. I ran the track in a Lexus this summer for an hour and it is an amazing course.
2:30 is cooking. What engine is in your car? Any photos? Hi-Tech made a nice car.

I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS VIDEO AS MUCH AS I DID SEEING YOU RUN THOSE LAPS IN PERSON:D

SURE BROUGHT BACK SOME GOOD MEMORIES OF A GREAT TRACK, WEEKEND AND PEOPLE.

What a rush

I'll be the only thing you will be stopping for is gas next time. Look's like a great ride.

Any other cobra's running on the track with you. Kind of nice once the mustang got out of your way or did you shift:3DSMILE:

Good Video

Scott,

Good sounding motor. :3DSMILE: What are you running in that thing?

You should easily be able to go 2:20's as your consistency gets better. I know how tough it is to get every brake, turnin, and apex just right, and how much it affects lap times.

Was this open track, with restricted passing,? I assume so due to your waiting to pass the Mustang.

Are you planning to get into wheel-to-wheel racing?
If so, the fun factor goes WAY up. There's nothing like drafting, bumping, and battling lap-after-lap with other cars.
The only downside is you occasionally have to put your car back together.

Have fun,

The motor is a 358ci, 660hp. First time running the jerrico, which I liked a lot better than the tremec. It was open track, with point by's so I had to wait and make sure the mustang knew I was going to pass. Wheel to wheel would scare me too much. Nelson Garrison's ffr cobra was right there with mine time wise. There were 10 or more other cobra's, all running in the 2:40's or 2:50s I think. It sure was fun. Scott

Scott,
Great video, If you didn't tell us I would have swarn that was a ride along with Rusty Wallace of Jeff Gordon or Dale Jarrett or etc. etc.
They're ain't nuttin like Open Trackin in a Cobra with Open headers. And if those weren't open pipes than that is one nasty moder.
I would love to run with you guys at Elkhart Lake if I could talk myself into that long tow.

Good Job,

Roger :3DSMILE:

I'm home now and finally got the site to open - WOW that is outstanding  What kind of camera did you use and how did you mount it.

Great stuff, looks like and awesome track. That Mustang you passed needs to start using ALL the track.

Watch out for that wood steering wheel...I'd get a leather one and put it on for racing if it were me. I'd worry about it splintering and impaling body parts in a crash--but that's me.

Nice footage! Where or how did you hook your mic up to get such great sound? Whenever I've video I get a lot of wind noise.

GeorgiaSnake 12-10-2003 06:21 PM

Cracker I'll leave that one alone - wind noise   Could have been the howling small block as it pulled away

You hit the marks quite well. Boris would be proud!

But you are seriously in need of some brakes

(As if you did not know this!!!!!)

Wow -- that is great, Scott. Sure sounds different from inside the car. That thing makes sounds like it has a Nascar engine. Wait a minute... it is a Nascar engine! :)

Great fun to watch -- I even caught myself tensing up when you'd got a little loose in that one corner...

Ben
