PS; I do love jambalaya, what kind is the little misses making????

David [/b]
I hear ya on that. A boil ... that's a Crawfish boil :) ... can be a hassle and take time.

Not sure which kind she'll do. Like all good recipes it's a family secret - but it's good. I think she may tone it down a little on account of the 'furriners' :) ;) I think you'll like it

Are you ready to rumble??

Looks like we have plenty of participants. There will be 15+ on Thursday and probably around 20 or so on Friday. Assume the Miata's will be back.

Keith Craft and Drew Baird along with their crew are coming to run the drags. The National Muscle Car Association Championships are being held on Saturday. Plan to stay over if you can.

Ed Boothman will have his new diesel pusher motor home there with full amenities. I'll have my new rig and there will be plenty of cooking going on.

It only gets better each time we do it.

Jay and I are bringing three cars to the event you haven't seen yet. It is gonna be a hoot!!!!

Come on out and at least enjoy the neat people that participate

Keith

Keith;

Thanks for the update, looks like this time will be a big success,we've got the car count, now let's pray for good weather to go with it..........

BTW;anybody want to post lap times at NPR????
Post your lap time/car type/tires/engine/etc/etc.....

65 Mustang Fastback,race trim with driver (me) 3400 lbs,6.5 inch wide Wal Mart tires (215/60/R15) all four corners,stock brakes,351-W approx. 350hp,Tremec 5 Sp.,3.00 rear gear,9" rear end,best lap was 1:32 or 1:34,not sure anymore.

What hotel is everyone staying at?

keithw 02-24-2004 04:41 PM

Hotel

We usually stay at the Best Western in Donaldsonville but they are booked on Friday and Saturday.

Jay is working on it. Should be able to announce next week. We'll reserve a block of rooms.

Keith

kountzecobra 02-24-2004 06:13 PM

We can all stay at Doug I's house! I hear his wife is a great cook too! :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Doug, will we need to bring our own linens?:)

Doug I 02-24-2004 09:04 PM

All of you ........ whoa that'd be quite a crowd :) Ya could keep the 'houlas company. Only have two of them.

We have 1 spare room that'd sleep 1 .... or 2 but it'd be real, real cosy. Gasholes bring own linen :p We are about 45 minutes from the track, on the Donaldsonville side of town. If accomodation becomes a problem there are numerous motels in this area, and I could look into it if need be.

Ya'll will know what a great cook she is after a sample on Friday. :) It's amazing what she can do with those pots and pan things in the kitchen.

3 weeks and counting.

regards
Doug

Doug I 03-02-2004 05:05 PM

I'm on it :)

Doug I 03-02-2004 05:08 PM

hmmm Jay posted at 4:04 and I got in at 4:05 ..... phew ... just as well the message hadn't self-destructed. ;)

Doug I 03-02-2004 05:31 PM

well now ..........

so far I've found ....... The Best Western is .........

adjacent to McDonald's
adjacent to Taco Bell
adjacent to Burger King
adjacent to Churches Chicken
across the street from Cracker Barrel
½ mile from Mike Anderson Restaurant (American)

now ... Cracker Barrel is a pretty good no-frills place to eat. Their Meatloaf is pretty damn good ... not as good as my wife's Jambalaya but good none the same. They should let us in .... :3DSMILE:

Having been to the Mike A's down in the NO quarter I can say from that that it's a pretty good seafood place. They might let us in :)

I don't know about kountzecobra though - we might have to hand titbits outta the window for him. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Are we looking for a place for everyone to get together for dinner 1 night?

Keith;

Looks good to me,should have a lot of fun..... I'm will try to be there Thursday during the day,but as a spectator only, will be there early friday morning with car in tow... Don Buck is the guy coming thursday only....maybe a typo???

Keith, who was the guy there last year in the older red 911 Porchse???,will he be there this year?????He helped me out getting thru a couple of corners and is a nice guy,can not remember his name....

David

keithw 03-07-2004 05:51 AM

David

Fixed the typo.

The red 911 belongs to Bob Morris and he and his wife will be there. He has hopefully fixed his exhaust where it will stay on all the way around the track.

I will be bringing my new Brock Coupe and a little surprise which I think you'll like.

See you in a week and a half.

Keith

Hey Ya'll

Went out that way last night with some friends for dinner. There's a well known "hole-in-the-wall" place that's been there since '51 and serves some good bolied crawfish - $9:50 for 3-1/2 pounds and they are gooood. It's nothin' flash but the food's good and the beers are big. :) We got there at 8 and the place was full.

They'd probably want some advance warning we'd be coming if ya'll want to head there. Parking is a little limited.
