No Problem Raceway III

Gonna do it again!!! Too much fun, and track time till you want to park it. It's March 18th and 19th.

It's run what you brung. We got up to 15 cars the last day we did this. Neat bunch of guys that had a great time letting her rip while driving within their means.

The track costs $1500 a day and I split this evenly amongst all cars.

This track is very forgiving and smooth. It's a great event to come out and drive without any pressure.

I plan to keep this event small so let me know if you would like to participate.

The web site for NPR is www.noproblemraceway.com.

kountzecobra 01-12-2004 07:53 PM

Count me in! I'm not going to miss it this time. My car needs a good track-flogging. :D :D

Doug I 01-14-2004 09:45 AM

We'll be there !!!

We'll bring the coffee and since Jay asked nicely we'll look at some snacks :-)

I was at NPR last week for a night at the drags. Took my Dad who was visiting from NZ and we had a great time.

Those who haven't been - this is a great place and it's very well run.

I'll let the local owners know and I'll see who else I can get there.

Clois Harlan 01-14-2004 09:49 AM

I will be there to caravan with you on Wednesday morning. Plan on making the drags Wednesday night at NPR. What time do you plan to leave Dallas on Wednesday?

Great little track

Keith is right, cool place to run your car and get a feel for it. The surface was really nice (although it's been a while). And the grounds are nice as well. In fact, I was there with Doug Reed and Doug generously volunteered to mow the grass for them in his SPF lawnmower.

Couldn't resist Doug!

DAVID GAGNARD 01-14-2004 11:56 AM

It is a nice track,1.8 miles and 14 turns, short back straight and the if I remember right the front straight is around 1800 feet long, plenty enough to get up some speed.... Very nice people and very nice facilitys.....

Out in the middle of nowhere....................

David

keithw 01-14-2004 03:03 PM

Clois,

Would like to leave before 9:00 AM. This puts us at NPR between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. In time for the drags. We will meet at my office.
It's easy to get to and just a little east of 75 off LBJ.

Really glad you can make it. You are going to have a blast.

DougI,

Bringing my new rig which has a generator water and bathroom.
It's air conditioned and will be a nice place for the girls to relax and chat. Also has a refrig.

See you there.

Keith

DAVID GAGNARD 01-29-2004 12:31 PM

Keith;

Planning on being there on the 19th only, you know I'm poor and have to work, but can "sneak" away pretty easy on Fridays.....

I have spoken to a few guys and right now it looks like there is a good freind of mine who would like some track time to test and tune a new motor.... He vintage races an original 65 GT-350...He only lives about an hour away and would come on friday only....May have another guy interested, but will not know for sure till later.....

Would this be o-k and can they come????? Do they or myself for that matter need to confirm ahead of time?????

As of now,I'm in for friday only unless it's pouring down rain and lets hope not..................

RACER X #99 01-29-2004 04:23 PM

Keith,
Just curious about what you get for $1,500. Do you get standby ambulance and towing service? Do you get flaggers and corner workers?
I know the tracks in the Northeast cost about $4-5 k a day but everthing is included.
Of course if I was out your way I'd be first in line to sign up.:3DSMILE:

Cranky:JEKYLHYDE

DAVID GAGNARD 01-29-2004 05:21 PM

Cranky;

Not to cut in on Keith, but they provide an ambulance with the appropriate personel, they also have the track instructor there to show any newbies around the track and the preferred line as well as get everyone to sign the needed paperwork...

PS; We may be getting a track near my home in central Louisiana this summer.... A businessman just bought one of the two local dirt tracks and his two sons are just getting into road racing,he plans to buy more adjoining land if possible and build a road course on the other side of the parking lot so both tracks would use a common parking lot.... This guy evidently has the money or at least backing to do it and I hope it goes thru, this track is all of 45 minutes from my house.....

David

keithw 01-29-2004 05:28 PM

David

Everyone is welcome. I have not been burnt yet on the costs I pay up front. I expect everyone to pay if they say they are coming.

Cranky,

Ambulance service is included. We do our own tow service and the track is such that corner workers are not needed. Very few cars on the track at one time and so far a bunch of very safe drivers. Many times you will be the only car on the track.

I'd like to come play with you guys up in the north east. If I own a Brock Coupe, do I qualify??

Keith

RACER X #99 01-29-2004 05:40 PM

Keith , With the great prices you guys have they're is no point in going anyplace else.

Some of the groups we run with are pricing themselves out of business and many of us are looking for cheaper clubs and other tracks. Of course when you get to run at a great track like Watkins Glen which is owned by Nascar, you have to expect to pay a higher price. It is getting very expensive though.

Cranky

BTW bring the Brock coupe anytime.:D

Cranky

keithw 02-01-2004 11:25 AM

Well folks, we're at about 10 for Thursday and 15 for Friday.

I would like to keep the group to a maximum of 20 to be sure the level of absolute FUN is maintained.

I plan on doing this once a month or so depending on our other racing schedules.

If you come, you'll come back. Remember it is run what you brung.

Keith
