THE ONLY TIME YOU REALLY NEED TO WATCH OUT FOR ONE OF US IS WHEN YOU HEAR...."HOLD BY BEER AND WATCH THIS!"

nahhh - we just prop our beer between our knees and keep the hammer down
Then again ..... we all better be careful when Jay is holdin' her tequila ... cause we won't be sure where his eyes is at
I'm working on something, for either the Wednesday night or 2 track days, that if it comes off will be a nice little surprise for ya'll.
Hope it all works out ......
4 days and counting
regards
Doug

I just rang NPR to check if my surprise was ok, if it works. They'd be all for it.
I asked what it costs to run the drags. $10. That's all for the whole night. $10 to watch or $10 to run as many times as you can get in. Talk about cheap. I'd have thought something like $5 per run, but nope.

Doug, before we get everyone's hope up about the drags, we might want to double check on if they'll let us run. Last word is they (NHRA) won't allow open roadsters to drag, period. Regardless of times run. Too bad, because it's an awesome strip.

I may be wrong, but,I thought NPR was an NHRA sanctioned track and they ran by NHRA rules.....I think NHRA will aloow Cobras to run,but they have a limit/classification for them,at another track I have been to,they let them run,but nothing under 13 seconds..... They made one run and were told not to run anymore, too fast, main rule violation was the roll bar or lack of full width or four point roll bar, again this was NOT at NPR.... I'd call Winston L. at the track and check this out first,BTW,saw him at an autocross this past sunday passing out flyers for NPR's upcoming racing season....
See you'll sometimes thursday as a spectator and friday with my car.................

On or way in the morning!!
We are loaded up and ready to go racing!!
Looks like we have 15 or so for Thursday and 20 or so for Friday.
Look on page 4 of this thread for the head count.
Trust me, this will be the most fun you ever had with your clothes on.
See you there.

Doug,
It was great meeting you and all the other fine people that showed up for the racing.
Keith & Jay said you would get in all the racing you can handle.
They sure were right.!
That was a fast two days, pun intended.
Please thank your wife for my son and myself for the GREAT JAMBALAYA she cooked up for all of us friday.
We really enjoyed the Boudin Balls too.
What are they though ??
Sure wish the track was a little closer or we would be back this weekend.

To Keith/Jay and all the guys and gals there this past thursday/friday;
Had a great time, glad to see some familiar faces and meet some new guys also..... I think everyone had all the track time they could stand and everyone including the spec Miata guys said what a ball they had...... Winston was impressed with the car turnout.....
I spoke with him for a while (been knowing Winston for a few years now) and he was also complimentary on the way you'll ran the "event" and the way everyone acted on and off the track.....Good relations with him will keep us coming back with open arms..... I think some of the locals that race there like the two guys flagging for us would like to get some track time next time you book the place..... Car count should not be a problem in the future.....as it was not saturday, very affordable.......
Hopefully next time out I'll drive better and the car will act better, sucked up some trash in the secondary side of the 4V and it was missing on the straights and hesitating badly coming off the corners, then to top that the left rear axle seal began seeping some rear end oil on the caliper/brakes causing them to fade/lock up on my last session,so it was not just the drivers fault for not so good lap times.........
Keep me posted when you'll decide to do this again.........
Again, thanks to all for putting on this "event",great job, everyone had a ball.....
PS;Jay,as I was leaving for home,I saw your car stopped on the track with a lot of smoke around it,what 's the story????
David
