Default Quick Rel Steering Wheel

Are there any members here using a quick release steering wheel? If so would you mind posting a picture?

I just want to see what they look like on a Cobra before I order one. Enzo has them at a price.

Check out Sterling Replicars' quick release. Lee Dahmer has designed a release that uses a black aluminum ring which encircles the steering wheel shaft. You simply pull the spring-loaded ring towards the steering wheel to release it from the shaft. Most people don't even notice that it's a quick release it's so inconspicuous. It also allows you to mount the "AC" or another Cobra emblem on your steering wheel.

Most of the other quick releases I have seen use a rod that sticks out the side of the steering wheel shaft and they don't allow the mounting of an emblem. These are not too pleasing to the eye IMHO.

Here's his address: www.sterlingreplicars.com

Wink UMMMMMM CLOIS

IF YOU DON'T PUT THE LOCK NUT ON THE SHAFT, THEN YOU HAVE A QUICK RELASE AND DON'T HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING

IF YOU LIKE I WILL SEND YOU A PIC OF THE QUCIK RELEASE ON THE CAMARO BUT YOU MAY NEED SOME MODS.

SERIOUSLY, LOOK AT THE SMILEY'S CATALOG THAT I GAVE YOU.

SEE YOU AT NO PROBLEM UNLESS YOU COME BACK SOONER.

I have a splined coupler I bought from Day Motorsports in Tyler, TX. About $60 or $70 they have a website. Quick release is made by Longacre.

I have a dumb question.
But I am serious,I don't know.

With a quick release does your normal stock horn button still work ?? Safety & inspection and all that.

If so,how is it wired ??

I have a horn button on the dash. I fabricated my steering column from SS tubing, 3/4" 1020 steel rod and a couple of bushings. The turnsignal switch is an aftermarket replacement add-on item.

BTW, the quick release steering wheel is great when working under the dash!
