Default On Track Insurance ???

It seems there are thousands of people across the USA that showup and participate in open track events and even dragstrip events with street legal vehicles. It's not considered racing but an opportunity to push the vehicle a little harder, do some performance tunining and see how the vehicle handles but in a much safer environment, something you would NEVER try on public highways for all the obvious reasons. But even though you take precautions sh%!$@# happens. When it does, how do the majority of participants go about getting their vehicle repaired. Not everbody has deep enough pockets. I know Cobra replicas, from any manufacturer, are not inexpensive. I know mine is not, but I see accidents happen every time I go to the open track events. Some are minor. Some more severe.
Is there any reputable Insurance Carrier that will cover damage to a vehicle while participating in a nonracing event on a track such as an open track event ?
If so please list them ! (and give details)
If not we better start our own I NEED TO FIX MY BROKEN COBRA FUND. All those that participate in nonracing track events can donate X amount of $ to the fund incase they need it down the road. Just show a legit repair estimate and get a percentage of the dollars needed to repair the vehicle. Well maybe??

Essentially the short answer is no.

You'd have to read the policy language very carefully. All of them have some kind of exclusion for racing or timed events. Many of them go even further to cover open track events. Even if it doesn't, you would have an extremely difficult time getting the loss covered. They will cover a driving school such as AAA, which is done on the street, but not something on a racetrack. If you crash the car, you're on your own.
