John I have tried that technique and I had to hang on for dear life because I found my brakes need just a little more distance than I thought. In fact car swapped ends and I ended up facing the wrong way next to the corner worker (who had abandoned his post when he saw me coming at him). Didn't hit anything but it I definitely got on the binders a little sooner the next time (these are split seconds we are talking about). My brakes at 125 mph need 300-400 feet to get me down to a manageable speed when hitting a hard turn. A gentle sweeping turn is different

Morris,
You and I both know what I am talking about.
The quickest way around a circuit does not include extremely late braking, but rather the early pickup of the throttle prior to the apex and therein carrying the most speed through the corner, resulting in a subsequently greater exit speed and most time spent at top speed overall.
What I was speaking of was finding just how deep one could go if needed.
All amateurs brake too early. They never find the limits of corner entry.
And we both know the best place to pass is on entry.
(Unless you have 20 mph+ top speed advantage.)

You are right on.... infact learning how to drive smaller cars makes you carry the speed thru the corner ...then when you get to the higher HP all you have to do is throttle control.....
By the way are you going to be playing with any cars this summer...

Since I had lost control (slid the back end out) before it didn't scare me but it was like a slow motion movie. I didnt' think I was ever going to stop. I guess the corner worker didnt' either.

It helps to have DSL to save this big file.

I think it's been both fun and educational!
You know why Cobras have a small glove box? Just big enough to hold a change of underwear!
So Dan, tell us about the time YOU needed to use the "glove box" following a mishap in your Cobra! Ha ha, still chuckling.

Dan,
It may be a boring thread but as long as members like you post these pictures of good looking trophy girls it can only make things a little more interesting. El Comando, Damn ...you da man! Even in July and August with the sun blazing down on your leather seats!! m
